All the fights didn't happen yet but here are some of the results. I don't have anymore details than what i am posting::
David Avellan def Todd Margolis by a guard pass in OT. it was 0-0 at at the end of 10 min. and david passed w/ his step-threw pass and won 3-0. I think it's time ADCC starts taking notice of Avellan. he has passed a couple of BJJ blackbelts guards and is the only person in the US to go the distance w/ David Terrell.
Otto Olsen def. Marcos Avellan. I don't know the score.
Parrumpinha won his match. he he was all over his opponent.
Mike MrKrulic lost in the finals to what was described to me as a "brazillian guy" So I'm guessing that it was the guy Renzto from ATT which means he must've beaten Mike Cardosa. Don't know who he lost to for sure.
Savbo1,
How did Margolis end up on his back in OT? Did he get taken down (2pts) or pull guard (-1 in ADCC rules)?
Also, about Avellan - I made a post about this before. The guy just keeps winning. He is a 3rd generation grappler, not the BJJ with subs, and not the wrestler who stalls, he is a combo of both. Good takedowns and passes Black Belt's guards which was somewhat unheard of a couple of years ago.
On top of that, everyone said he would get submitted by Terrell in 2 minutes and lasting 20 minutes with him and making it competitive shows what an animal he is. No one also gave him a shot against Rorian's son, and he beat him with no takedown points in the tourney.
Avellan should by all means go to ADCC. Both Avellan's should IMO.
Anyone know how Ryan Ellison,Raphael Assunacao or Chris Moriarty from Team Jacare end up doing????
Todd explained to me how he would up there but to be honest I forgot what he said, it was some type of scramble, no takedown and no -1, David got the 3 for the pass. I'm sure someone will explain it to us later better than I can now. I'm hoping Charles will post when he gets home.
TTT for more results, thanks for posting them.
Numero-Someone else told me Todd lost -1. but Todd told me he lost 3-0 so I don't know what happened. But David won.
Got the rest of the results:
Monsen passed PeDePano's guard w/ 20 seconds to go for the win.
Marcello garcia choked out pablo Popovitch-rear-naked.
Wade Rome beat Rob Constance 2-0
Olsen beat Marcos 3-0.
Renato Tavares from ATT beat Mike MrKrulic in OT to win his division. he beat Mike Cardosa in the 1st round.
Boca beat Kronenberg 10-0 and won his division too. I don't know who he beat in the finals.
I don't know who won the other 4 man.
wow! i hope they put this event on DVD!
TTT
Holy Smokes!
Congratttulions David!
Any word on Anthony Tolone?
this was an awesome show, deffinitely get the DVD
Anthony Tolone put his guy to sleep in 3 min.in his weight class and then I heard that he lost by 1 point I think in the absolut. Way to go Anthony.

GRACIE BARRA FAMILY...
First it was a GREAT afternoon of grappling!
Tolone put Indiana wrestler Chad Wagoner to sleep via triangle. Wagoner went to sleep in his second match too.
ADCC has recognized both David and Marcos Avellan in the SWO.
Olson played wrestler offense and defeated Avellan. Avellan was exhausted and assisted off the mat. Both spoke well of the other afterward.
Chris Moriaty did not have an Alternate match, but took 3rd in the Absolute. He did extemely well for himself against a top ATT black belt.
Todd didn't drop guard. I think what happened was that David took him down with a double but Todd went to four (in ADCC, if you go to four, it doesn't count as a takedown). Then once on four, he turned to guard. Once you are on four, turning to guard doesn't count as a guard drop (no penalty).
It was a great fight, probably one of the best fights of the night.
I'm sorry if I disappointed anyone, I'm looking forward to meeting up against Otto again in the future.
As a side note I was thinking of the people that Terrell has gone up against no gi and Bobby Southworth took him the distance in the US ADCC Qualifiers. I know he went up against UFC vet Keith Rockel too but I'm not sure if he submitted him or beat him on points.
Garcia is becoming like shooto champ Pequeno in that you know his game (arm-drag, take the back, rear naked) and know what he's going for but no one can stop it. Incredible. I tried that arm drag a couple of times while sparring but couldn't get the hang of it. Seeing as how much he's screwing people up with it though I'm gonna keep working on it. Popovich is rock solid too so for him to tap him out is awesome.
Like I mentioned Monson can beat anyone in sub grappling on a given day. He's so strong coupled with improving technique all the time its hard impose your will on him. I'd say he's close to being one of the top dogs in no gi again, having beat both Xande and Pe De Pano in the last month or so. I'd love to see Monson vs Garcia in the absolutes of a tourney.
Thanks for the results Sav.
I beat Beau Clark at about 4 minutes in with a insideout heel hook. I lost to Boca in the finals by 2 or 4 points Im not sure. Boca has amazing ability to pass guard. i was in awe :).
actually it was 6-0... he passed me twice 3 points each and I replaced twice. it was a very good match.
Someone should setup Olson vs Popovich. These are two guys that have beaten a very tough Marcos Avellan.
This would be for the same reasons as Terrell vs Lutter was setup in that both were one of the few who beat David Avellan.
both would be great matches. I would choose olson and terrell to win.
Agreed.
I would take Popovitch and Terrell. I think Pablo beat Marcos much more convincingly than Otto did. No disrespect to Marcos, but Pablo completely dominated that fight and Marcos against Otto there was much more running and avoiding then fighting and Marcos was the one trying to engage.
With Pablo vs Garcia, the action was controlled by Garcia and there wasn't much that Pablo could have done differently after the takedown. Garcia controlled perfectly and waited till Pablo was forced to try something due to time constraints.
