We're they lucky to have so many likeable fighting personalities or what's it a conscious change of direction by the UFC? Finally, Will the next one be car crash TV? 
Yes, agreed. Fantastic production. I felt like I was watching something important in those semi-finals, just down to the production and build-up. Great season. Great fighters.
The first couple seasons were pretty good
This season and the Comeback were by far the best.

no manufactured "bad guys". The only bad guys was Chael and he is the nicest, most articulate bad guy I've ever seen. First TUF I have watched without fast forwarding straight to the fights after the 1st couple of weeks since season 3 or 4.

LOL before this season the ug did nothing but bash the show for being dated, old, and stale. One great fighter and its the best Shit since sliced bread. UG is a fickle bunch.

It's definitely restored my faith in TUF, after last years efforts I'm not sure why I tuned in again but I'm glad I did.

Yeah I can imagine they are going to focus on dramas/relationships/bullshit in the house which they avoided this year making the season so great to watch.
Yeah. This was the best season. It's hard to watch TUF Brazil because this TUF had such better production values. It makes TUF Brazil look cheap.
The fighters were better, the fights were good, and there were some fighters you loved to cheer against.
My wife always starts the season with me, but is out halfway through. She watched every episode this season. Good stuff -- keep it up, BLAF.

The production made all the difference in the world. The way it was shot made it seem more dramatic and like a documentary. The editing produced a storyline about the competition itself rather than the drama in the house. They chose to focus on the fighters comments about strategy, who they thought they could beat and their history/backgrounds. It made for a human story that was also easy to follow.
Previous seasons focused on drama that had nothing to do with the competition. The fighting seemed secondary and it became difficult to follow the tournament. They focused on guys that were out of the competition because they created drama. They focused on personality conflicts in the house even though the fighters involved would never fight each other and nothing would ever be resolved. The fighters still in the tournament would sometimes get so little airtime that it would be hard to know who still had fights coming up.
Overall, a big leap forward for the show.
