Geez, it's been a while since I watched that video. They REALLY know their shit. I love watching them teach.

I like Marcelo's "inside knee control" approach because of its simplicity.

In this approach, he initially aims to get his legs over the opponent's feet and drops to his knees with his butt down. At that point, then starts fighting grips and passing. It's the kind of thing you can do quickly before things get out of hand.

Yes, that's a much more succinct way to put it. I haven't used it a ton, but so far so good.

Marcelo also has a version where he stands up very straight and more or less makes the guy hang off his body like a puppet on strings. I've never tried that one, but it also seems straightforward.
