I'd like to see this fight too. I think Spong lights him up like the 4th of July, though. Love him or hate him, Rumble "grew up" at the Blackzilian camp. Vitor spanked him in the UFC before sending him out the door, and then ironically, became a bit of a mentor or dad figure to him at Blackzilians. Same thing with Rashad. I'd love for someone to tell me I'm completely wrong about this, but I don't see it.
But yeah, Spong's one of the high level kickboxers at Blackzilians. He's lost to some names, but you could argue he was a 185'er competing against legit, super-talented heavies like Gokhan Saki, Bonjasky, LeBanner, Sefo, Aerts, Overeem. If I were to pick a P4P #1 guy in kickboxing, it's Spong or Saki. It's a shame so few people follow kickboxing in America.
So because of the big-brother issue, but also the huge difference in actual kickboxing talent... I hate to say it, but I think Spong changes the course of AJ's career. Bad match up, but it'd probably be fun to watch.
