UFC veteran and Ultimate Fighter season 10 alum Mike Wessel is set to face Scott Barrett at “Middle Tennessee Mayhem” January 29th in Murfreesboro, TN at the Murphy Center. ATO has learned through a source close to the promotion that the two heavyweights will collide on the SportFight X show next month.
Wessel is best known for his stint on TUF 10 after coming up short to Antoni Hardonk at UFC 92 after taking the fight on short notice. Wessel has won two straight and with a win over Barrett could find himself back in the UFC.
Barrett is chomping at the bit to get back in the cage since his controversial loss to Damian Grabowski at Bellator 25 in August. Barrett appeared to won the first and second rounds but Grabowski was announced as the winner winning a unanimous decision.
“Middle Tennessee Mayhem” will be the first show SportFight X will promote since it underwent new ownership in the Fall. With the main event of Zach Underwood vs. Matt Traylor the show is shaping up to be pretty spectacular.
