ULTIMATE FIGHT NIGHT PITS PATRICK “THE PREDATOR” COTE AGAINST HIS PREY ON SPORTSNET
Two-hour special to air Saturday night across all Sportsnet channels
TORONTO (January 24, 2008) – Canadian middleweight Patrick “The Predator” Cote’s domination of the UFC will be put on display on Saturday, January 26 at 9:00 p.m. ET/ 8:00 p.m. MT/8:00 p.m. PT in one of six bouts on Rogers Sportsnet.
Sportsnet’s special two-hour coverage of the UFC Ultimate Fight Night card at the Palms in Las Vegas showcases the 27-year old Quebec City native as he makes the most of American Drew McFedries (6-3), scoring the TKO over his opponent in the first round.
"I saw he was rocked. I'm the Predator, man. When I see something, I go for it," said Cote (13-4) of his performance in the bout. Cote’s pugilistic skills were in top form against McFedries as he extended his UFC win streak to three consecutive fights.
The main event features newly minted welterweight Mike Swick (11-2) against Josh Burkman (20-5) in a hotly contested battle – Swick’s first fight since moving down to the welterweight class. Swick scored a key third round victory by majority decision in his match.
Another key match-up to watch out for will be lightweight Nate Diaz (8-2), winner of Season 5 of "The Ultimate Fighter," taking on Alvin “The Kid” Robinson (10-3) as he scored a decisive victory by triangle-choke on his way to the submission win.
