Worst movie ive seen in my entire life. Holy shit this is bad. Most unbelievable stories/characters, disgusting characters at that. None of which are umrelatable at the slightest bit.
Holy shit, what a GREAT song though .
(Man in motion)
Is that the one where Demi Moore almost gets used and abused by a bunch of oil sheikhs or some shit?
Yeah but in the movie I think she was faking it for attention cause when her friend shows up to "rescue her" the sheiks dont care that he takes her.
There are so many things wrong with this movie I am like pissed this was ever accepted by anyone. Every character is an awful person and nothing in this movie is realistic at all.
Farewell Brock - Nick Diaz vs condit. Nick didn't have a game plan
This is overlooked.
Nick was somewhat exposed as not being able to adapt or have a plan B when his usu thing doesnt work out. I give Nick respect for keeping on keeping on but after the 3rd, 4th rounds, you gotta mix it up a bit.
Hocky Balboa -Funny you say that cause I LOVE the breakfast club and only reason im checking out st elmos fire is cause it came out I think a year later with 3 of the same actors. Also cause im in love with ally sheedy. My favorite movie is The Breakfast Club, and 80's movies are my favorite.
I tend to watch movies that I like over and over and over again.
I have only seen that movie once in my life when I was younger, and I believe there was a reason for that.

Yup, minus the Ally Sheedy part; I was naive enough to think it would be some sort of continuation of The Breakfast Club when I was younger.
It sucked.
I actually collect 80's movies. It is one of the only things I collect.
I buy them on DVD, Blu-Ray, and still have a few random ones on VHS.
I do NOT own St. Elmo's Fire in any form.
Hocky Balboa -Good to hear man. I was born in 85 so I prob watched more 90s movies and some kids 80s but now I have gotten into 80s movies and catching up with them. I actually just popped revenge of the nerds in. Saw say anything for the first time last week as well.rcombs -Hocky Balboa -Funny you say that cause I LOVE the breakfast club and only reason im checking out st elmos fire is cause it came out I think a year later with 3 of the same actors. Born in 81.
Don't collect to collect, but just to have them to watch.
For instance, I won't be in some random dude's garage trying to get a barely used VHS copy of "Tuff Turf." Haha.

LOL @ Tuff Turf. My favorite part is when Jim Carroll is playing "It's too Late" in the warehouse.
Here's a couple of great 80s movies that you guys might not have seen/heard of that are pretty funny:
"How I Got Into College"
"Better Off Dead"
I remember liking "Valley Girl" eons ago, but tried to watch it on cable not too long ago...it does not stand up well to the test of time.

All of those are awesome.
Fun Facts:
- "Booger" from Revenge of the Nerds was the Bible College recruiter from How I Got Into College.
- The big lady wrestler from GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) was also the one who worked over Al Bundy in an episode of Married With Children
- Lara Flynn Boyle (the girl that Marlon followed to college) used to get nailed by old man Jack Nicholson
"Summer School" with Mark Harmon is a fucking classic. Had a prime Courtney Thorne-Smith in and out of bikinis.
Worst movie you've seen?
I take it you haven't seen Expendables 2?
Three O'Clock High was good.
Yeah, St Elmo's Fire sucked. I'm older than you guys so I actually saw it when it came out in theaters. Sucks worse when you are paying for it.
TempestPrime15 - You guys suck!I can hit me up if you see me online. Bilbo Bag On Yo Ass

BarkLikeADog - I was still in high school & my sister had just entered college. We saw it with her circle of college-bound high school friends. I don't remember it well other than I didn't care for it, but it seemed to be custom made for their demographic & they all loved it. Heard that soundtrack for years after.
I don't remember enough plot to comment on plausibility, but I do remember the general vibe being very representative of that group, with piles of unnecessary drama stemming from the incestuous nature of the very small cliques of the pre-social media/cell phone era.
In other words, I believe it was intended for 18 year olds & not meant to be hyper-realistic to an older crowd.
I had the same complaint with Less Than Zero, which would have been a much different, better film had the cast been just 5 years older.
This exactly.
I started college in 1988, and all the folks I knew who were ~20-25 fucking LOVED St. Elmo's Fire.
Everyone else was kinda "meh."
So, sidebar, it seems like it's way easier to come of age in the facebook era, yes?
Pre internet, our circle of friends was almost completely dictated by 1 common feature - jocks, nerds, theatre, band, tards, stoners, preppies, etc. - with no crosstalk allowed. So out of a class of, say 100, your clique takes that down to 12, so you have access to 6 partners (unless you're bi), & at least half of those have zero interest in you.
So, 3 to pick from, & 2 or 3 of your best friends have banged or will bang them.
Is that still the way it works, or did technology fix this? Someone young tell me a bedtime story.
