I was changing lanes today on freeway going 15 mph and had more that enough room bu the lady in car next to me was doing her make up in her mirror and didn't see me and doesn't slow down for me to get in and boom runs into my truck back right side behind tire. and so cop says it's my fault cuz I wasn fully into the lane and pretty much made it sound like I straight drove into her. But it was bull shit. She wasn't paying attention and I couldn't swerve out of was was already to far into lane she just wasn't paying attention so now I gotta deal with insurance going up as all that mess so annoying. First accident that's "my fault" bull shit!
Nobody should have to slow down for a lane changer.
Observe the rate of traffic and accommodate the lane.
Sorry to say but it's your responsibility to merge safely and not everyone's else job to get out of your way.
Ghost of Corvelay - Nobody should have to slow down for a lane changer.Traffic was stop and go lady just wasn't payin attention Litterally doing make up

Rename post "rear ended by woman"--may be more accurate, and you'd get the answers likely desired.

Sucks for you but completely your fault.
Yes, anytime you are changing lanes and the side of your car hits another car, you will be found at fault. If you could have made it all the way into the lane and they hit your rear bumper, you would have a better chance of arguing that you had completed the lane change (but still, if she only hit one side of your bumper, you'd probably still be at fault).
Edit for me being an idiot.
That sucks man. I know what a pain it is to deal with insurance companies too. Hope you can work it out
U aint no huckleberry. Pay attention
I am convinced that the number of people in the world who know how to merge correctly is less than 10%.
I had a similar accident two months ago. Middle of the night, black car driving over speed limit with a broken headlight and I was still considered 100% at fault. Sorry but there's no way you're getting out of your one.
You caused an accident. Shit happens, should just be happy everyone is ok.
