Stop with the Frank smack talk..
I met Frank Shamrock, I thought he was the most down to earth guy out there. For as much of a LEGEND he is, he doesn't carry that much of an ego. It's more confidence. He admits he is getting old and can't be number one anymore!!! How is that arrogant ?!?!? Most fighters past their prime always bs about how they are in the best shape of their life!!!
And he's taking anyone on!! He'll face prime Nick Diaz even when he knows he is past his prime! He will face undefeated Cung Le. The man does not back down from no one...
I don't know why Frank is so hated here. It makes me sick...
Brock Lesnar pointed and laughed at Heath Herring after their fight, yet he's hyped up and admired on UG....
"Brock Lesnar pointed and laughed at Heath Herring after their fight, yet he's hyped up and admired on UG...."
What? Do you go to some different UG that I've never heard of?
In his defense I think he acts that way because his persona makes money.
inf0 - he was beating Renzo, and was probably just about to KO him...
love me some Franksham
Lol, Frank was getting owned!
True Frank was getting owned in that sport bjj match
Oh wait no it was a fight and Frank was ahead on all the judges scorecards

hey frank ... sup?
"of course he was. Frank was Showtime's boy and they needed him to win."
Yes. The judges were from Showtime and not the athletic commission
LOL
inf0 - But but but Renzo must have went from side mount to mount about 6 times!!!
The position changes were ferocious!
Renzo didn't even do that. Mount would have risked being rolled. He went to quick tentative knee rides and then straight back to side control - or as some like to call it - 'setting up the arm submission'.
I met Frank a couple of times in person
The coolest goofball you can ever meet.
Don't think even if you're opinion is that Frank was losing to Renzo that an mma fan could say that significantly tarnishes Frank's legacy....It was f'n Renzo Gracie..not some can.Win or lose, he consistently performs. Like him or not, Frank was/has been an example of what an mma fighter should strive to be...well rounded in all disciplines..wrestling, submission, boxing, kick boxing. Frank was working to be a 'complete' fighter long before St. Pierre, B.J. Penn or Fedor were on the scene. Will say I am a Frank fan..his fighting aside, I think he's good for the sport..a fighter with an opinion who advocates for himself and fighters in general. And the Baroni videos were hysterical.
lol@Frank losing to Renzo
Sport JJ is not MMA. Frank will remind people of this again when he demolishes another overrated Gracie JJ guy in his next fight.
Jujistu ground imo
i've been a fan of frank since his pancrase days...but i'm an even bigger bjj renzo fan and was rooting for renzo in that fight...despite the rule breakage, renzo winning the position game, and getting the win on paper...renzo had to quit..so i give frank the win...but i'm old school
I don't know Frank personally, but I've met him a couple times...he took the time to sign my collection and chat a bit...very down to earth and witty...i saw no arrogance..only confidence
CAFattack -
I met Frank Shamrock
who gives a shit? fuck off troll
Diego stole my name - True Frank was getting owned in that sport bjj match
Oh wait no it was a fight and Frank was ahead on all the judges scorecards
Yes, it was a fight. A "mixed martial arts" fight.. Renzo was controlling the takedowns, and the ground.. He made Frank look like a white-belt on the mat.
The only way Frank was ahead in that fight is if the judges were shady. Frank did absolutely nothing in the fight. He looked decent standing up for the few seconds he could manage to keep the fight up in between takedowns.
Renzo scored 3 takedowns, 3 guard passes and the first takedown was stood-up from fucking knee-ride. You tell me that they didn't want to see Frank Shamrock win that fight.
Renzo bitched Frank. Frank knew he was getting bitched, so he threw 2 illegal knees to stop it.
^^ his explanation is that the judges were "shady"
He cannot grasp the fact that Frank was landing more strikes from the bottom with more power than Renzo was from the top. Not to mention literally landing at will on Renzo on the feet
Of course if Showtime was so desperate to help Frank win and had bribed the athletic commission. Why did they not simply award Frank the win by TKO instead of DQing him?
Its pure BJJ nutthuggery because Renzo had dominant position but made no attempts of finishing the fight with strikes or submissions.
Even in the controversial Randleman vs Bas fight. Kevin beat the dogshit out of Bas for the first 5 minutes. Renzo did NOTHING except hold position and get takedowns
lol @ scored guard passes!
You forgot to mention all the 'arm isolation' points renzo was racking up!
renzo never going for any decent strikes or sub attempts was brutal, it was worse than sherk that everyone complains about
frank did more damage on his feet and on his back from under sidemount
dominant position is not dominant position if you dont do anything with it
Frank is very nice. I flew out to San Jose to train with him and had a cab take me to a motel he recommended. The place was all booked up. He picked me up and drove around town until we found another place in the same price range that had vacancies. We initially met in my hometown, a few days before his Contenders match with Dan Henderson. We had dinner with Maurice Smith, Tsuyoshi Kosaka, and a few others. In exchange for the rides I gave him to and from dinner, he paid for my meal. It wasn't something we'd agreed on beforehand. He just took my ticket and insisted. The chance to hang out with hang out with legends like those was worth well more than the cost of that meal.

Nothing to do with BJJ nuthuggery. Frank didn't do anything in the fight, he landed a few leg kicks, and a few knees from the bottom. It's an MMA fight, not a k-1 fight. Scoring is controlled by striking, takedowns and groundwork. Renzo controlled 2 of the 3 ranges. Frank couldn't do anything from the bottom. You think Renzo gave a shit about a few knees to the side? Come off it.
And if they didn't want Frank to win, then why did they stand it up from KNEERIDE? The most dominant position on the ground aside from mount?
Renzo may not have finished Frank, but he didn't give Frank the chance to finish it either. Don't forget that.

first, they dodnt stand them up from the kneeride, it was just from side control
frank did more damage with 1 right hand than renzo did all fight, frank got him good a couple times on there feet with his hands and feet
those knees from the bottom were more effective than anything renzo from the top
just stop
crazycracker71980 -inf0 - he was beating Renzo, and was probably just about to KO him...

Im sorry did they fight a second time because, the fight I saw I saw Renzo dominate classic BJJ style.
and they wont fight a 2nd time because renzo wont do it, has been offered multiple times
