Storm Over 8 Year Old Cagefighters

Legit LOLS

This is from the ACTUAL BBC Newsbeat Site

"People are jumping on the bandwagon because they're using the term cage fighting. That's just for the show. It's mixed marshal arts."

FAIL !

meh... it's a grappling match, but like the person above posted, the way it was promoted is reason for the outcry. the promoters should catch ALL the grief here.

However, I don't have a problem with ANY combat sports for children. As long as they wear protective gear for striking then it's good to go. Fucking ridiculous about the crying over that stuff. These kids are learning to be self sufficient, strong, assertive, and they learn how to take control of situations. The same cunts that whine about it are the ones the next week crying over bullying in schools. Which is ridiculous too. There's a pecking order and people will fit in where they belong. Regardless of how stupid the parents become.

Let fucking people do what they want. combat sports are a thousand times more productive than destructive, and I congratulate any parent with the brains to see that.

Kids have a grappling match and it's national fucking headlines... England fucking sucks Phone Post

This is the latest from Sky News website:

Police have said they are not going to take action against the organisers of a cage fighting event involving children as young as eight.
Footage of the fighting, posted on the internet, provoked a storm of controversy and was condemned by the Government and campaigners.

It shows the schoolboys grappling in a cage without protective padding or headgear in front of a large crowd.

One is shown breaking down in tears during the event at Greenlands New Labour Social Club in Preston earlier this month.

But Lancashire Police says it has looked into the matter fully and decided "there are no issues for us to pursue".

The NSPCC expressed concern at the young age of the children taking part.

Chris Cloke, head of child protection awareness at the charity, said: "We would strongly discourage parents from letting their children take part in this kind of fighting.

"It's quite disturbing that some of those involved in the bouts were as young as eight, an age when they are still developing, physically and mentally.

"The organisers of these activities should think very carefully before allowing children to be involved when they are egged on to inflict violence."

And Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt described it as "barbaric" and expressed shock at the apparent lack of restrictions on the activity. Phone Post

this is the Strawweight champion...

The middle classes getting upset at seeing 8-year olds in a cage, that's all it is. The organiser of the event clearly states they don't engage in contact fighting until 14/15.

john joe - yes its just grappling and yes we all know that its safer than most other contact sports the kids could be in, but the promoter who staged this is just fucking stupid full stop.

If its a grappling match, let it happen on a mat at a grappling tourney. Dont feed your ego by having your child enter the cage at an MMA event to have a little grapple with his mate.

Because of this stupid gimmick, MMA has taken a big hit here in the UK. The media are going mental, they dont understand that they are basically watching judo without a gi, they see the cage, a baying audience and a crying kid and they are horrified.

It was a stupid thing to do, and anyone else who does it - its not the first time i have come across it - is fucking stupid as well.

VTFU.

Dana needs to sign that Hen asap. Phone Post

Just wanted to let everyone know that it's spread over here (I'm in canada). The news just showed the story, and began with the reporter saying " kids fighting in a cage, bareknuckle??"

Then I see two kids wrestling. Wtf

Not sure I agree with the rules, 8 year olds shouldn't be doing subs or slamming in the guard imo - but that aside; much ado about nothing.
