So Scott Coker says that if Jake Shields signs with the UFC, he's going into the "tournament business." So what would your ideal tournament for the vacant Strikeforce MW belt be? I'm going with this, depending on the outcome of upcoming fights:
Hendo vs. Mayhem
Manhoef vs. Prangley/Kennedy
Lawler/Babalu vs. Rockhold
Jacare vs. Le/Smith
I would prefer a full-blown GP, they have the depth at MW for a 16 man field
1st Round:
Ronaldo Souza vs. Kevin Casey
Dan Henderson vs. Frank Shamrock
Robbie Lawler vs. Matt Lindland
Jason Miller vs. Siyar Bahadurzada
Scott Smith vs. Karl Amoussou
Trevor Prangley vs. Joey Villasenor
Tim Kennedy vs. Luke Rockhold
Cung Le vs. Melvin Manhoef
Something like that
You gotta put kennedy in there if he beats prangley, if not put trevor in there.
I think Smith gets in for sure, Babalu is more of 205

I dunno, when you make it a 16-man field you're gonna get some marginal talent in there. I don't really see any reason why a guy like Villasenor should be in the tournament when he just got completely handled by Jacare. I mean, Kevin Casey? Come on.
Honestly I wouldn't even mind a 4-man with Hendo, Jacare, and the Lawler/Babalu and Prangley/Kennedy winners.

Babalu is fighting Lawler at 195 with plans of moving all the way down to 185 afterwards, sort of like how Wand fought Franklin at 195 before fighting Bisping at 185.

I dunno, those guys are all fighting for Sengoku now, while Strikeforce has a working arrangement with DREAM. I'd love to see them bring in Santiago in particular, he has gone unappreciated for far too long.
