Strikeforce and Jeff Monson

Why is Jeff not fighting in Strikeforce?

It makes no sense. He can only fight in America for right now and Jeff is a talent with a winning record that the UFC has not snatched up yet?

Why has Jeff Monson never fought on a strikeforce/EliteXC card before?

ttt

this is especially true if he can really make 205 like he is suggesting

If I'm Coker and I'm trying to build the Strikeforce brand with new fans and media critics while juggling a relatively young nationwide TV deal - especially given the conservative leadership of CBS - there's no way I'm letting Monson near my show because of the negative image he brings from his recent federal defacing/grafitti crime.

Yeah, there's room for black hats as well as white hats in any promotion, but many Americans would be offended by such a crime. And my guess is that the heads of CBS feel like the image of the MMA product on their network is already walking a fine line. Too risky of a p.r. move, in my opinion.

The UFC's brand is solid and their TV deals are unshakeable. Maybe they should sign Monson?

Your advanced AIDS must be clouding your brain, LOL @ the CBS 'leadership' being conservative. Do you get CBS and CBN confused sometimes, champ?

How are they not conservative?

I'm sorry I don't have your expertise...because I'm just a know-nothing who worked at EliteXC. And I've dealt first-hand with both Showtime and CBS.

Go ahead and spout your wisdom.

kinda surprised Monson isn't signed up either

Strikeforce isn't just signing up a ton of talent and figuring out later when and where to book them.

They're signing up names that they specifically slot for a fight and letting the roster grow slowly and carefully.

They have the correct attitude that there WILL be quality fighters available between free agents, M1 guys, and Dream guys, and they're being conservative with acquiring talent.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them sign Monson if and when they get a specific fight they want to put him in.  They just haven't had that slot at this point.

That makes sense

japetto -
rock1775 -  monson is trash....king of B rated fighters..  and good against A rated fighters. But not champ material. Sometimes boring..thats my take on that idiot.

I remember when stuff like this would get you banned, now it's all too common.  There is no wonder why pro fighters don't come here anymore.

The much bigger problem here is poster bashing. That ruins the civility.
