Load of horse crap. Why not keep the heavyweight division as a "minor league" for good prospects with not much experience? Makes no sense to just get rid of it completely.

because there would be like 6 fighters? Dude even with how great everyone called the SF Hw division they still had barely 10-12 fighters worth a damn. there just isn't that many great hw prospects. If they are decent they get scooped up rather quickly.
This is great news I think, let each org have it's own 'personality' instead of just a straight b-level version

Fedor isnt a big deal anymore. He still is a great fighter but no big deal. After getting KO'd he fights Monson and Ishii? He beats them devastatingly and it'll absolutely prove nothing.

I'm excited about this. I think it's good that they're not doing away with the women. There are a lot of ultra-talented females like Tate and Roussey who coud possibly make women's mma profitable. It's nice to hear they are still going to have a chance.
is it just me or is the UFC getting rid of the HW fighters just to say hey Fedor F-you buddy?
