I had no idea that Struve's dad has been battling cancer. Those individuals dealing with something like cancer are warriors themselves. Struve showed a tremendous amount of heart tonight and proved a lot of people (including msyelf) wrong.
Congrats Struve and your dad is in our prayers. I am sure he's proud of you tonight!
Struve is so young too. I can't imagine what this guy is gonna be like in 3 years
I was thinking of that tonight. The Struve we saw tonight looks nothing like the Struve of five fights ago. Can you imagine what he'll be like by the time he's 30??

Depends on how well his chin holds up.
I'm pretty sure hell get the hang of utilizing his reach pretty soon. He's about to hit his peak of athleticism too. I say he'll make top5 someday

I agree. The guy looks better each time we see him fight. I thought he'd lose tonight and after the first round, he looked great. He also goes in for the finish, which I love. Hasn't he finished 4 guys his last four fights???

That was a touching interview.
Literally, one year ago today, my Dad was in the hospital battling cancer.
It is a tough thing for family members to deal with as well.
I know the pain he feels, but can't imagine having to headline a freaking main event with that in the back of your mind.

What a badass.
Sorry about your father.
And yes, that's why I give him so much credit. I can't imagine what Struve had on his mind walking into that octagon tonight.

Ya he's finished his last four fights. He's finishe all his 29 wins too except the buentello fight I believe.
well rounded poster - I agree. I don't know if it was his boyish face, the Nelson KO or that I just hadn't seen enough of him, but I wasn't completely sold on him until today. Whether or not he has the striking defense to be champion, I'm sold on him as a warrior now and looking forward to seeing him fight. I think Werdum's a great fight but I can't help but want to see Werdum vs Mir, ASAP. Maybe Stefan could welcome Ubereem back to the big show?
Welcome OVEREEM back? We don't want to kill the kids for cryin out loud

He actually powered through and is alive and well.

I guess I should have worded that better.
Thank you though.
Oh, that's great. I didn't know what to say because I didn't know how things turned out.
That's great, and I hope your dad has lots of healthy happy years ahead of him.
Well, I saw him fight on the UFC card against Herman and people were talking about the fight as if it was a lock for Herman . I couldn't see it. I'm telling you, Struve is waaaay under-rated.

A lot of my concern comes from the Dutch style of training. It happens to almost everyone after so many years of doing fighting, especially the Dutch guys.
I'd say he's going to hit his peak in 2-3 years and maybe have a bit of a quick drop off when hes 30. He's going to be top 10 for a few years, though. I'm curious to see if he tries to add some more size
