Also, the maximum federal amount you can take out is nowhere near that amount. Which means these kids are taking out mostly private loans, which means they have co-signers and/or collateral

if the government were to stop guaranteeing the loans they’d already be dischargeable, a bachelor’s degree wouldn’t be the new GED, and a whole bunch of workforce issues would be solved in the space of a school year.
just don’t bail out the loan companies with taxpayer dollars and the circle’s complete.

The weird thing about this whole thing is Biden even said he can’t do it. He said it needs to come from Congress, than he just did it anyway lol. He knew he couldn’t do it, didn’t care. It’s all theatre.
