Medically - he is literally the 0.0001% of the population that needs to be on TRT for his medical condition.
Of course ban TRT and PEDs - but this guy doesn't have small nuts due to past PED abuse - this guy has a serious medical issue.
What do you think? I mean tumours on the pituitary gland FFS!
"Acromegaly is a disease that Silva has battled with in the past, and this is not the first time he has had this sort of surgery.
I will have to do the surgery again after my next fight, and then I will be cleared to train again in four or six weeks," Silva told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. "I will have to do the surgery again since I can't take testosterone (replacement therapy)."

The guy has failed multiple drug tests. I don't know if I think he should have an exemption, regardless of the ban.
The guy is in a real difficult medical position it would have been easier on some of these guys if they gave them 6 months to taper off or get medical advice.
Just my 2 cents did he ever sue that doctor who he was getting his TRT from for the Hunt fight ?.
He may be one of the few who actually qualify, and I'd have more sympathy if he hadn't failed tests and had elevated T when tested last fight.
You do realize he already tested positive for a steroid no doctor prescribes for low t right? Oh wait you didn't? Oh ok we'll carry on.
Dude cheated and got caught, get over it.
Maybe if someone has a severe medical condition they just shouldn't be fighting.
Trt is banned, why are we talking about who deserves an exemption?
What will he do with all the milk
Maldini2706 - Maybe if someone has a severe medical condition they just shouldn't be fighting.
exactly, if he needs TRT to continue fighting then it's time to hang it up and get another job.
He did get an exemption and he still failed his drug test
This guys has terrible advisers regarding his supplements. Genuine medical need or not, he should cycle much better.
First time he popped he disputed the results and said he couldn't even take testosterone because it would kill him due to his condition. Then after the recent fail he said he had to take testosterone because of his condition. Very shady.

His condition varies.
Like how my throat gets way more sore if I'm calling out of work.
I get a raspy sound.
If he needs it that bad, all he needs to do is retire and enjoy it

What were the details?
This was in 2006 which was prior to TRT being widely available and the excuse was still related to his condition. So had TRT been available it would have been a perfect way to keep tabs on his testostorone levels.
According to Silva's manager, Alex Davis, the positive test was caused by Silva's use of Novedex, a testosterone-booster he takes to raise his low testosterone levels (a symptom of his acromegaly). "He has to treat it", said Davis. "He spends between $6,000 and $8,000 a month just on medicine for it. He needs to be able to keep fighting to make a living. If it's between Antonio's health and pleasing the athletic commission, we have to choose his health.

So if Chael is forgiven for his past failed tests and Barnetto why not Silva? I think this is lame. Admit it. You dont like him. You are rassist against Acromegalians.... (jk)

TRT is expensive last I heard otherwise we would all be on it banging our bit on the side like stallions. He is a fighter. Earns a living and its being taken away. I met him back when he was fighting at Cage Rage and I'm going to say somthing very weak but... he did not seem the type to cheat. I like Chael. But he seems like the type to cheat. There I said it. Lame I know.
My point is he is a fighter - what you want him to do now wonder from town to town scaring livestock and being seen by hillbillies?

I disagree. Uneducated at the time. Like all medical conditions there is a lot of blah blah as to how and what is best regarding treatment. Not being on TRT and lactating is probably not up there with the helicopter and internet

LOL! Agreed. But in reality he should not need to. He should submit to lots of tests like Vitor and fight for the UFC on TRT - IMHO
Maldini2706 - Maybe if someone has a severe medical condition they just shouldn't be fighting.
This is sadly probably right.
