Claude, just out of curiosity what was the surgery you had on your knee and what did the doctor's say is your likely recovery time. I'm going under the knife soon for a torn meniscus, and a myriad of other minor ailments and I'm being told I'll be off my feet doing rehab for about 6 months. It seems a little long.
it really depends on what type of tear you have and what they plan to do. i know if the try to repair the tear then it takes a bit longer to rehab if its a simple removal the return time is much quicker..
and most important ive learned is what you do during the pre-surgery and rehab times. most rehab places are pretty clueless regarding the needs of a high level athlete and think a bit of ultrasound to get eh swelling down and rest will do the trick.
i plan to be back competing as soon as i get the ok from my guys but no sooner than 4 months since it takes some time for the actual surgery site to heal and re build the right nerve pathways. cant afford to zig when is should zag in a fight so gonna make sure its all good first.
email me if you want i can put you intouch with some great people and articles detailing pretty much any question you may have
Right on thanks Claude. What's your email address? I'd love some more information!
