Swimming after tattoo

Hi - just getting all my tattoo questions out of the way today ;P

I've been waiting for the "right time" to get my hazelnut tattoo... I train, so the ideal time for me is when I'm injured, but it's hard to pre-arrange an injury LOL!

Anyway, I have a wrist problem and I can't see a specialist about it until the end of June, so I'm thinking now is a good time to get the tattoo done training-wise.

My only concern is that I do swimming lessons every week with my daughter. How long after getting a tattoo done do I have to wait before I can swim in a chlorinated pool?

I have other tattoos, but I wasn't swimming when I got them, so I don't think I've ever asked this question before!

Chlorine is way bad. I tell people AT LEAST 2 weeks, the bleach in there will really mess up a tattoo.

Yeah, I figured it would be bad - just wanted to know how long!

I suppose I could schedule the ink for right after a class one week, then she could go in with just her dad the next week, and the week after I'd be fine to go in again.
