Big news coming out of Antonio Inoki’s IGF (Inoki Genome Federation) promotion concerning their big New Years Eve event, Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2012.
Simon Inoki (Antonio’s son-in-law) announced, via his twitter account, that the event will air on Fuji TV, the same television station that broadcasted PRIDE for six years. No other details have emerged but this is a huge deal for IGF, especially when compared to the DREAM/GLORY New Years Eve show which, so far, has only secured a PPV deal in Japan.
Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2012 is set to feature a mixture of pro wrestling, kickboxing and MMA bouts. So far confirmed for the show is a MMA clash between Olympic gold medalist Satoshi Ishii and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia and a pro-wrestling match between Naoya Ogawa and Kazyuki Fujita. Ray Sefo and Minowman have also been confirmed for event.
Glory cannot be happy about this.
Fuji TV back in business
Inoki shows are always hit or miss, that being said I can't wait to watch it. Something about the old Japanese New Years events that made them stand out amongst the rest.
Go Big Tim!
