It's on!

The proposed Tim Sylvia-Ray Mercer boxing match that the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board refused to sanction has apparently found a new home.

Monte Cox announced the six-round heavyweight fight would be rescheduled for June 13 in Birmingham, Alabama as the main event of Adrenaline III.

Cox confirmed that Alabama does not have a regulatory body to oversee the fight.

stay classy

6 rounder nice

Who else is on the card? Alabama is turning into the same place it was for the dark days, if you can't get it approved elsewhere come to AL.

I might be wrong, but I think Alabama does have a commission or organization that regulates "professional boxing", but does not have a commission or organization to regulate other combat sports.

Someone close to Monte Cox might suggest that he call Tim Lueckenhoff, the head of the Association of Boxing Commissions, before he gets too far deep into this event.

Dude, shut yo mouff!!! We want to see this fight go down!!

If Mercer KO's him, we could see MORE mma guys step up to Mercer. Like a Kimbo fight in Boxing!!!

LOL @ Alabama.

What a crappy state.

CAFattack - I'm all for seeing the fight happen. I'm just saying that before Monte spends too much time and money on this fight, he might want to make some calls to make sure it's allowed since it's a boxing match. It would suck to do all the marketing that he just did all over again if the fight can't happen.

Wjy anyone would want to see this fight is beyond me... Mercer will show up for the payday.

LOL @ mudnamer. What a crappy thing to be.

That crappy state was hosting UFC's when they were in there banned in like 40 states

a. speak for yourself

b. youre not an mma fan

dont understand the point in this, but whatever.

Is fighting in Alabama going to keep Mercer or Sylvia from fighting in NJ ever again?

Sometimes they have that weird cross-coverage thing if you don't follow their own rules..

Every MMA fan wants to see this. Deep down, they beg for this match.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that maybe Monte Cox knows what he is doing.
