Who has hurt their image the most?
BJ Penn - vaseline gate
Matt Hughes - autiobiography
Randy Couture - failed war with the UFC
GSP's too young to have ruined anything yet.
errr...probably none of these.
Royce Gracie - Tests positive for massive levels of steroids after having mixed results late in his career. Would have gone down as the George Washington of MMA had he retired before the first Sakuraba fight.
Admitting to relations with 13 year olds is more damaging than making dubious claims of cheating or attempting poorly concieved legal struggles, at least in my eyes.
Ken Shamrock.

Thirteen? I didn't think she was THAT young...
Couture probably had the farthest to fall out of everybody. For a while there everybody was worshipping him and wishing he was their dad. He ended up being hated during his sit-out, and now most people are neutral.

I actually didn't read it, but that is what people who did read it reported on here, and nobody contradicted them, other than to say that all he admitted to was fooling around or something.
When did "tarnishing your legacy" become such an important topic? Seem like anytime a fighter loses or even farts in public, someone has to talk about how it is tarnishing his legacy.

This.
Royce fucked up big time.

It's more tainted from public blunders or screw ups than just straight losses I think.

Well Tim Sylvia did shart in public...if thats what you are referring to....but he didnt have much of legacy to tarnish...of course then he went on to taste pee pee and get destroyed by fedor

Because it's obvious neither of you have read the book, and it seems that people that have read it like to lie about, or at least exagerate the facts in the book, let me break it down for you.
Hughes's now wife Audra knew both him and his brother growing up. In his autobiography, Hughes recounts that, when he was in college she told him that his brother, Mark, kissed her when she was thirteen. The context implies that she was a little older than that during the conversation, so I infer from this that Mark was maybe just graduating from high-school at the time of said kiss.
Some years later, when Audra's in her twenties and has a son (father not around and not discussed by Hughes), Matt starts seeing her and they get married.
How this particular aspect of the autobiography "tarnishes" Matt Hughes's image is beyond me, although he does clearly lie about, or at least mis-remember, other things regarding fights.

truth just woke up, stretched, farted and is about to put one boot on
taint.
It has to be Royce. He went from selling BJJ as the art that can overcome size and strength, to using steroids.

LOL. OK, you win.
Nobody mentioned Jenna Jameson yet?
