42 yrs old and haven’t “trained” in over 15 yrs. Just getting back from covid the other week and quit smoking (again) on valentine’s day. I would’ve done this sooner but the schedule there is m-f 5:15-6 beginners 6-7 advanced but I’ve been working 8-8 Monday through Friday. My schedule got juggled when I got back to working so I have today off giving me the opportunity to try a class. Going to the beginners class because my conditioning will be crap and also I’m sure my kicking game from a technical perspective is definitely lacking. Nervously excited for it. Gonna lay down and rest for about 40 minutes and then hit the road to get down there. Will report back after class.
I missed it. He told me to show up early for warm ups and unfortunately I hit some shitty traffic on the way down and ended up arriving 5 minutes late to the actual start time. Not gonna be that guy, especially coming in for the free class. Oh well, maybe I’ll have a better opportunity to check it out in a couple weeks. That’s what I get for resting.
Youre the customer, you’re in charge. The sooner you break the instructor into this comon knowledge, the better he’ll able to instruct you. This what you do. Walk into his next advanced class (if you have traditional muy thai headdressing, wear it), tell him your there “to rock and roll” cause your an American. They love Americans because we sweat money, don’t be afraid to let them know you’re aware of this. He tells you he doesn’t think you’re ready for the advanced class,give a look around the room like you’re not very impressed. Then ask if he has any daughters in college.
