Taking dog camping...

So I'm taking my dog camping with me next month. It's his first time going with me, the problem is that me and my buddies are camping about 6-7 hrs from where I live. Anyone have any ideas on getting him there with out him going nuts in the car for so long? Phone Post 3.0

Is your dog used to cars? If yes, shouldnt be an issue as long as you take him for a couple trips to the bathroom. If no, give him a tranquilizer!

Longest he's been on my car is 1-2 hrs. Phone Post 3.0

Let him drive, he'll be too distracted to cause trouble.

Actually that's a prescription, but I would contact my vet lol.

My collie drove with me from Florida to California. He sat in the front seat like a boss.

Thanks man. Appreciate it. Phone Post 3.0

If he can't relax in the car for that long, I would worry about him wandering off.

He's actually really attached to me. We hike every weekend here inSD. I let him roam but he won't go more than 20 yards away from me. Phone Post 3.0

just give him coloring books or put on a disney movie in the car.

You can buy calming aids at the pet store for that.

Just open the window

Mine has one of those "dog hammocks" for the back seat. He has the whole back to himself. Phone Post 3.0
