great blog. hes really good at providing perspectie on details you dont hear about usually. missing practice is something we all do on occasion but you dont expect to hear it from an olympian.

Sometimes life can kick you square in the @$$ and that happens to everybody. Taraje is man enough to admit it.
Life is super tough for that kid, but he keeps pushing. His approach to training, life, and judo is impressive. And unbeknownst to me, he's one heluva writer :-)
He is a smart, smart guy... I am sure that his writing follows suit with his brain power. I believe he was already enrolled in college when only 16..?
