Tell me about Anthony El Toro Ruiz

He has wins over Francisco Bueno, Jimmy Ambriz(former KOTC heavyweight champ) Bobby Southworh (former Strikeforce light heavyweight champ) and Brad Imes(TUF finalist) in his past four fights.

Hes currently the Strikeforce light heavyweight champ and is on a 6 fight win streak. He was undefeated in 2007 and he has 12(t)ko out of 20 wins.

Where did this guy come from? If I was Dana I would try to sign him to WEC or UFC.

WEC maybe. Anthony is tough, but shakey as hell. A couple good wins should put him on the map definitly!

I think he was supposed to sub in for Tomasz Drwal at UFC 81 against Dave Heath, but Tim Boetsch got the fight instead and look what happened.

"MMA Weekly is saying that Heath will fight Anthony ?El Toro? Ruiz on the card, keeping the night at nine fights. Ruiz would be making his debut for the UFC. El Toro has been somewhat of a journeyman in his career and has been impressive in recent years. After three straight losses back in 2005 he has gone 11-2, including winning his last six fights in a row. Heath wouldn?t be the first UFC talent he?s faced, either. He beat Brad Imes - TUF 2 finalist - at the Palace Fighting Championship event last week. He also won via TKO against Bobby Southworth back in November"

He is not the Strikeforce champ, I AM!!

He is a good fighter tho'. He beat me on a cut caused by a headbutt, which is kind of hard to take.

He will have a shot at the title in June I believe, due to that win.

i love that you were corrected by Southworth. lol. thats why i love the UG

i saw his fight vs Imes. Basically he seems to have skills everywhere but nothing spectacular...granted imes outweighed him by a lot seeing as he normally fights at 205 and imes is a huge HVWT. i believe he took that fight on short notice too (ruiz took it on short notice i believe)

would love to see him on the udnercard of a UFC. he certained has the resume as of late. he deserves his shot. first i want a rematch with southworth though

No disrespect to Bobby, who I think is a much better fighter. But I seem
to remember Anthony landing some punches before they stopped the
fight. However I think Bobby would win a rematch without much trouble.

"He is not the Strikeforce champ, I AM!! "

My bad I thought it was a title match.

Eric he did land some punches. A 4 piece to boot. Watch the video tho', they are all right on the chin. Right before the punches tho' he butts me(accidental) they announcers saw it, and most at ringside as well.

After the combo he goes for a takedown, which I'm defending. We hit the ground and I'm bleeding. He does some ground/pound for a few seconds and the fight is stopped.

I don't know but usually you have to get hit in the eye to get a cut on your eye. He butted me in the eye and that's where the cut came from.

I take nothing from Anthony tho'. He's a tough fighter
on a good role, and I can't wait to get in there with him and redeem that loss!!

Im sure you will get that win back Bobby. Although Ruiz is a bit of an
enigma

What gym does he train at of?
