Tell Me About Drones

I'm looking at the Phantom 4. It's a quad copter with a nice camera on it. I have no need for it in my life. I just wanna get an aerial view of shit and I have no idea why.

Do any of you loiterers have one?

I somehow think the Phantom 3 is plenty of copter. A year or so ago it was over $1000 and now about 1/3 that.

Passive Jay plays with those things

.

I have a friend here that has the Phantom 3. He's telling me the upgrades they made to the 4 is worth the money to start with that one. The trackin function, the built in safety feature to help prevent crashing that shit, battery life, and higher top speed is what he's saying.

buy his so he can upgrade.

No way. Goin big. He's got more cash to play with than me anyway

I lost my Phantom 3 4K yesterday due to flyaway. Gone.

I'm thinking I'll get a Phantom 4 now, or wait a bit and see what comes out next.

Master, guide me. What to do?

the 4 is nice but the only real huge upgrade is a feature that prevents you from flying it into things. If you are careful you will never need that. The 3 pro is an amazing drone and I can not say enough good things about it.

Nice! DJI is defiantly the top player in the drone game IMO.

In.

Was just thinking about posting a thread on drones. Phone Post 3.0

so cycklops, whatcha getting?

here is a distance test I did on the phantom 3, flew it as far as I could and triggered the auto return to home from losing signal. I was overdue to calibrate the gimbel so the horizon was off at certain points but that is easy to fix.

They are a blast to fuck around with.

Lost my Phantom 3 Standard earlier this summer. Time to upgrade to the 4.

How common is losing them? How does that happen? Phone Post 3.0

I don't know anything about drones.  Fire up the BGE and tell meowmix to make some drinks...or make the drinks yourself and watch cartoons with your crazy kids.

its pretty rare. they are programmed to return to you if they lose the signal from the controller, thats what I show on the video I posted. I fly it away from me until it lost signal, then it automatically turned around and flew back to me. The most common way to lose one is not pay attention to how much battery you have left, but you can even set it up to auto fly back when the battery is low.
