Kid's and Aldo's were both awesome. Aldo's was a couple seconds longer because they circled for a but first. Kid actually landed his faster, but the guy sat up like he might try to get up then ate a punch which finished him for good. Anyway, as I said in my initial post I knew it had been done before, but it just can't really be any faster. Someone pointed out that two guys could both sprint to the center and one get ko'd on first contact, and yes, I would agree that's the one way someone could possibly be faster, but I doubt it will ever happen.
^ Yeah, that's what I theorize. The only way to beat this record is for two fighters to be ready to run full out at each other from the very moment that the ref says "Go" - with their fists out like lances and they charge each other like they're jousting.

Also, the truth is Askren was knocked out two seconds into the fight. The only reason it was recorded as five seconds is because of the time it took for the ref to run over and call it.
Sorry, Askren. This KO is going to be in the UFC record books for a long time. Probably for generations.

it was faster than the time keeper turned in and that was the problem.
the time keeper let the clock keep running probably from shock.
