The dude was an absolute machine. I always wish he would have gotten the Belfort rematch in Pride. He would have crushed him. Instead, belfort goes and gets flying kneed and choked out by Overeem in no time when Overeem was still kind of a bottom of the barrel guy. It was that year that people starting looking at Overeem serious. He choked out Belfort and Igor with ease and won like 4 ADCC European qualifiers in a row with that same guillotine that year.

Wand had said he wanted to fight Overeem
In the tournament and people said he was trying to get an easy fight.

The way he demolished Rampage twice back then, this is the same Rampage that had fought in k1 and fucked that dude up and outside of a couple submission losses, had been fucking everybody up.

Jones couldn’t even beat a way older and shittier Rampage as badly as Wanderlei demolished a PRIME rampage.

He will be back if someone threw a bunch of money at him to fight Vitor in bk

After everything he did in Pride he came back to the UFC. His fight with Chuck was everything we hoped for and more. I remember after that fight he looked at Dana and in his broken English asked if that was good enough. Absolute Legend!

This is just an example of a spastic fighter doing some stupid shit to get a ref stoppage. I mean he didn’t land many of those shots and of course he fell down when he hit the cage, but he wasn’t even close to out. A lot of Vitor’s “flurries” were him just throwing spastic shit hoping for a stoppage due to how wild it looked, like fighters who punch gloves while somebody is covering up and look for the ref to stop it. He did the same vs Hendo

If you let some of those fights really play out, he would probably be gassed and give up 10 seconds later and get stomped out.

Those fights were meaningless. You couldn’t beat the dude when you were both on top, but you can now that you’re both at the bottom of the heap, thats not much of a win, same as Tito vs Chuck.

It was pretty fucking awesome although personally I prefered the h-bomb…

That is an undisputable statement!

I was trying to think of someone more intimidating and lethal. All I came up with was Crocop.

Prime Mark Kerr was scary but it was mostly due to his size. Wandy litterally looked like his nickname “The Axe Murderer” and he fought the most violently in a place where he could use the most violent tools. Then the spectacle and pageantry of Pride just amplified it…
