The best Champagne I've tasted...

1952 Philipponnat Clos des Goisses.

I am really and truly screwed now. This was absolutely the best Champagne I've tasted, maybe ever. It was like a whole completely different experience. So much flavor and great acidity and lots of fruit. Incredible balance.

I also tasted a 1971 (Godin Freres I think...) Chambertin that was really interesting on the nose. It was the first time I've ever really smelled soy sauce so strongly. The Chambertin was amazing and delicious as well.

Very cool. I really enjoy your TN posts. Keep em coming. I'll never be able to drink anything of that age or quality.

I've had some amazing Bollingers.
