The best possible fight for Anderson to retire on

NO BRAINER.

Its the one question mark left in Anderson's reign. People can fantasize about champion versus champion matchups in cross-over matches, all they want. That was never a legit part of the UFC. It was a way for Randy to make money while getting unearned title shots.

The truth is that we NEVER got to see the best from either guy. Anderson's knees were compromised and Lutter barely had 4 months to make weight.

Neither would be an issue this time around.

People either sleep on Lutter or are just plain ignorant. He's faced very dangerous strikers before. Including Anderson's teammate from the Poop-Chute Boxe team in Pele. And Marvin Eastman. Remember how those turned out?

He also has extensive accomplishments outside of MMA, in the world of BJJ and no gi grappling.

How many would have the balls to enter a grappling tournament run by Rorion, where Rorion's sons, would be competing, under rules Rorion picked? A tournament that was so ridiculous, it saw Monson driven to attempting leglocks before being defeated on points.

Not only did Lutter enter, he shined. Allow Rener to explain what happened when Lutter got his hands on those Gracie boys:

This is a serious, bad MFer here. Not just some de-facto fringe contender who's petrified. Or a loudmouth who talks his way into unearned shots for the money.

Despite popular dogma, Lutter accomplished more against Anderson than Chael did. Lutter demonstrated he was not only a difficult match for Anderson but that he could actually threaten him.

Your guys seriously think Anderson WANTS to deal with this guy again?

It makes sense on all fronts. Historical relevance, lack of alternatives, and spirit of the challenge of competition.

What Lutter, myself, and most serious long-time fans want to know.....................WHATS THE PROBLEM!?

Hoping the UFC wakes up and makes this go down before Anderson is gone for good.

Lutter will NOT stand there winging shitty wild shots, trying to hit the most elusive fighter in the history of the sport. He will play to his strengths, get in his face, pressure him, take him down and mount him easily.

A healthy, rejuvenated Lutter is LIGHT YEARS beyond Anderson on the ground. Andy is equally superior in the striking dept. The wrestling may well decide this bout. Along of course with conditioning and the intangible factors inherent to any bout.

Im telling you guys, if it happens, DO NOT BLINK. Heres hoping we get to see it.

Thank you for your perspective, Sargent!

The Michael Jordan of brazilian jiu jitsu

didnt he (silva) already beat him like 8years ago or so???

if i recall it was a triangle with elbow shots.

This thread deserves a lot more attention for the amount of effort you put into it, I enjoyed it.

I'm thinking that Bones is the fight to go out on. They are much closer in size than Silva vs. GSP and styles would match up better. GSP said that Silva walks around at 233 and he walks around at 188. I'm sure that Jones is much closer to Silva's natural weight.

I'll throw Marvin Eastman's hat, in the mix.

Some of the most ineffective GNP from the mount I have ever seen.

Lutter tapped mostly to dehydration.

funny thread

B-HOP!

even if its the GOAT, a triangle choke can only squeeze so much water out of a person.

Sorry...but Silva would absolutely wreck Lutter now. What has he done since?...
His only claim to fame is that guy who did good against Anderson Silva. Phone Post

Lutter? Seriously?

Yeah, no.

Lol. Lutter? Phone Post

Disappointed in Helwig.

Lutter had a crack at the goat but got up in some brazilian crotch stinky inky Phone Post
