The British "Boardwalk Empire"....

Well, not really, but some commentators have chosen to style it as such.

However, the Peaky Blinders is set in the same post-WW1 era and is based in the UK, in Birmingham of all places and is about a criminal gang of the title's name, led by Cillian Murphy.

Sam Neill stars as the Irish cop called to Britain to deal with them.

Season 1 is only 6 episodes long. I downloaded it online for £10. I recommend it

Yes I thought it was good.

British TV is never normally very good at these sort of expanded multi-season shows so I wasn't expecting much.

P.s. I fucking despise Luther.

How can you despise luther?

I have never hated a TV show more.

But let's keep this thread on the Peaky Blinders (yes I know I started it).

Sounds cool but wtf kind of gang name is that? Phone Post 3.0

The name sounds silly but it has a meaning and was a real gang back in the day.

Lol i also hate the hammy, overacting Luther. Its like a comedy sketch show version of 'the cop on the edge' stereotype Phone Post 3.0

Overacting, that sums it up perfectly.

Sam Neill's attempt at a Belfast accent is appalling, I do like the show though Phone Post 3.0

I'll have to check this out Phone Post 3.0
