Some time ago Dana White in order to market the UFC and prove it was always the best (as well as to meet other objectives) spread a false message of hate and ignorance by beginning to bash Fedor. I coined a phrase that some may have seen here, 'The Dana led UFC fanboy troll army'. This refers to the trolls who take what Dana says as 'gospel' and attempt to spread his message of hate and ignorance across forums and anywhere else they can. They are very strong in number and are a very nice percentage of all posters and MMA fans overall at this point. Although I know all of you can name a few who troll the hardest, there are many that only troll with one or two ignorant posts per applicable thread.
The clear defect in this in terms of it's effectiveness as a marketing strategy employed by Dana comes in two parts. The first part is when you demean a legend like Fedor you do indeed hurt the sport, i.e. if Fedor "sucks" (said like 100 times by Dana), being he was so dominant in the best promotion in MMA (for some time, the real $'s were in Japan and most all the best fighters went to fight there) then, MMA as a whole must "suck" too!
The second part of why Dana's great troll attempt is doomed to fail it that it's just based on crap; therefore, smart enough people will know what he says is just BS and their voices can be heard too; therefore, he will be made to look stupid.
Well, I am one of those voices and I going to talk some common sense truth MMA in this thread. This thread debunks Dana's troll attempt in whole.
Dana troll attempt (the 'Dana led UFC fanboy troll army' rant), comes in two parts.
A. Dana discredits one of the great HW's that ever lived, if not the very best (Fedor).
B. Dana builds up another UFC fighter beyond what is reasonable (AS).
So basically Dana's message is that the UFC is the best and that was always the case, and the fighter Dana says he thinks is the best in the UFC is the 'best ever in MMA'. Fedor who was the best fighter ever in the "UFC's only real competition", "Sucks"! "He lost to a MW, he's overrated"!
We will now analyze and debunk these premises.

Ok let's take a look here at this. Who did Fedor fight? Um, TY Sabaki I could not have been as thorough. I will say though in regard to the below (from Fedor retirement thread, written to answer the Fedor hating trolls) that IMO Fedor did not beat Arona (I have also stated that I think that some of the VERY top HW's today are better than Fedor was and the game has evolved, i.e., I'm not a Fedor hugger and that is not my purpose here as the TS. I'm just setting the record straight here in whole). Additionally I would add to the below (to debunk further troll attempts I've read) that while Fedor is 7-0 vs those who have worn the UFC HW belt, when he beat Arlovski he was rated the #2 HW. Coleman in the 1st fight with Fedor was 7 or 8-1 going into the fight and was a top wrestler (a dam beast really and a great UFC champ). Randleman was a great wrestler too. Now it's true I can't name a great wrestler he fought that could tap dance and play the tuba too! BTW below I believe the data that the 5 championships being the record is false. Hendo has 4 tourney championships (from HW to MW) plus three other belts too. I think Igor won a ton of tourney championships too. I think Randy won 4 belts and one tourney too. Still I think the post below is very strong overall and I did not want to edit it.

I think there is clearly enough said here to debunk Dana's rant that Fedor 'sucked". In fact he is GOAT HW IMO.

IMO AS is the best striker that ever lived and MW GOAT. Who did AS fight? Many feel his best win is Hendo which is very good (and yes he beat Fedor) but a few guys can say the same. He also beat Ace, Forrest, Belfort, Newton, Sonnen and Okami (some of his best wins IMO). Both he and Fedor had lots of top 10 wins too (AS slightly more).
As stated Dana has a mantra, "AS is the GOAT". So what is the issue with that?
While we see some of Fedor's resume above, and whereas he fought those dam monsters as a small HW, for a good part of his career AS cut weight (almost ALL do below HW, but we're taking GOAT here) to fight at MW. He did beat the biggest sized LHW (Forrest) and we saw that he was a nice sized LHW in that fight but then he went back to a MUCH weaker MW division to stay. At no point did AS never challenge the best in the world (Shogun, Page and Shad) after Forrest period. It was no threat to anyone close to AS to do so (his team - That is a cop out as he could have fought non title fights against the best when the opportunity presented itself – If Dana followed through with his bogus threat and took his belt he could have won it back in a heart beat, clearly worth the risk for a GOAT to fight the best IMO). N
Now he says he won't fight JBJ too.
In addition to some unimpressive wins (strength of opponents) including a win against a fighter who never won a fight. Another one 1-3 and fighter who ended up 4-13, AS also LOST to a fighter with a LOSING record and he has other poor losses as well. In addition AS had a fight with a good wrestler in which he was tooled for over 4 rounds before getting a last minute sub. Other GOAT candidates lack those detriments on there record. AS fought in a weak division and after 6 years there as champ there are only a three he even fought in the top 10 today. Some could not even hold even a spot in the UFC.
So the competition Fedor fought starting with 5 former UFC HW champions is better than AS's all things considered by far IMO. In addition, Fedor like GSP (another GOAT candidate IMO) are complete fighters, they can wrestle, AS is not strong there at all.
AS was public about not wanting to grant Sonnen a rematch. In addition, there is great evidence AS ducked Hendo too. If you know Hendo, titles and tourney championships are the only thing he gives a crap about really. He had won a title shot in UFC 100 by the UFC and he had GREAT LEVERAGE (being his contract was up) to get something promised to him that's very important to him delivered. Also let's not kid ourselves here he does not like AS. He has spoken his distaste for how AS showed up some fighters after killing them.
Dana said on resigning Hendo near the beginning "I know that I have an offer out there that SF can't match"!
Clearly the fight was put on the table to AS, and "he was not keen on the rematch".
The next thing we hear Dana say is that "he lowered his offer to Hendo"!
Reporter on camera: "don't you think that a man like this would be an asset"?
Dana: "maybe to them, not to us".
Reporter: 'Do you think Dan will ever be back in the UFC?"
Dana: "No he'll retire over there (SF). I'm done with Dan Henderson".
So more money was on the table what was the issue?
Hendo- "I would not have left the UFC if it wasn't obvious that Anderson was avoiding a second fight"

Again IMO a GOAT should want to fight the best and time and again AS has not done this. Others have a better resume. One can still argue AS is GOAT but it is not supported by across the board facts. A lot of facts point against it.
