If he does actually manage to jump through all of the necessary hoops to step back into the octagon, which is highly unlikely, it will be for a payday and it will not be an inspired performance.

I’m not saying you are necessarily wrong, but I most certainly don’t see any evidence to support your claims.
What we know is Nick Diaz fought at least once every year between 2001 and 2015, with the exception of 2014, where he had a less than 2 year break (March 16, 2013 - January 31, 2015). Nick hasn’t fought since 2015.
All we can infer without speculation is Nick has never taken a substantial break in his professional career before 2015. It’s very possible the break might be rejuvenating. It’s also very possible Nick has nothing left.
Only one way to really know for certain and it’s not going to come from baseless claims. Threads like this claiming ‘delusion’ or worse, are as speculative as claiming he will return and find great success.

Hot take. But seriously, was one of the few who at the end of the Nate fight I said I wish it wasn't stopped because Nate was still there and Mas was tiring. But he wasn't really tiring. He just wasn't going quite as hard as earlier. He definitely wasn't tiring enough for him to be susceptible to an overwhelming attack from Nate without landing another big shot of his own. Nothing goes differently in a rematch other that Mas maybe finishing earlier.
We'll never know. I think Nate could have overwhelmed him in 4 and 5.
The rematch needs to happen already what's the hold up?
the_decimator -His final UFC run was not inspiring. He stopped being competitive when he lost to Condit, then GSP. So then he fought Anderson, and needed a hot test from the Spider to get that L overturned.
All these names that were mentioned as potential challenges in the earlier posts would trash him. He is still in great shape but cmon.
His last Win was vs BJ Penn... BJ! That isnt an accomplishment anymore and it hasnt been for years.
