Who knows, but my guess is that it would have been 2 rounds of the same. There were no signs in the 3rd round that either guy was weakening/showing any potential openings. 
That can be said for every single three round fight ever in the UFC.

No, the fans weren't robbed. We were spared 2 more rounds of Machida running and Hendo gassing.

agree 100% op i was saying that to my friend. really it was only 2 rounds because of the usual slow round 1 lyoto has when he's finding his distance and timing. off topic but earlier today before the fights someone edited lyoto's wiki to a win by split haha

As much as I wanted Henderson to win, that fight going 2 more rounds would have likely been Machida continuing his same performance at a gradually increasing rate due to the likelihood of Henderson slowing down in the later rounds. It was as much a chess match as was predicted, but Machida was just a half-step faster than Hendo tonight.

I think we would have been even more disapointed if that fight lasted 2 more rounds of similar or the same action. After the fight I actually was glad that they didn make it 5 rounds, cause it woulda been horrible to watch a main event where two of the top guys do next to nothing.
Dont get me wrong i love hendo, and respect machida, but it wasnt a good fight imo, and extending that would have been so much worse
