The Fighter was

The Fighter was just on FX. Its one of my favorite movies. The only thing i don't like is that the chronology of the fights were off. Like when he met the girl he said he lost 3 straight, then fought Mike Mungin and lost in the next scene. He fought mungin before the 4 fight skid. Either way, great movie.

It got me thinking of this fight.

I remember watching it live with friends and being floored, literally blown the fuck away at how fucking GREAT this fight was. Not that it wasn't expected to be a good fight, but certainly wasn't expecting what ensued. Even George himself said it was one of the best ever, and had probably one of, if not the greatest round in boxing ever.

For any of you boxing fans that never saw it, you owe it to yourself to watch it. You will not be disappointed. Actually their whole trilogy was phenomenal.

They won fight of the year twice in three fights...lol

btw, another thing worth noting about Ward was he was never ko'd or tko'd.

Honestly I thought it was a little cheesy and they cast all but dickie poorly.

Still better then warrior though lol Phone Post

Absolutely amazing fight, I'm not super familiar with boxing, is it considered one of the GOAT fights?

it should be.

HBO's Jim Lampley summed up the beauty of Ward's career during the broadcast by saying, "How do you become beloved, wealthy and a star in boxing when you lose 12 fights? You can only do it one way. You fight the way Micky Ward fights."
