I've keep hearing from old school fans/fighters from the 90s that they just don't care about the UFC or MMA like they used to. They're happy that the Brock thing is over and seem to only want to watch when Ando, Shogun, GSP, Aldo and a few others fight and avoid the Jack's of all trades that don't take risks.
I have friends who haven't missed a PPV in a decade who weren't watching last night. That Fox fiasco was a final straw for a few people. I even went to dinner at Geoffrey Zarkarian's joint instead of watching live.

MMA has turned into mostly kickboxing. Not as fun as it used to be. More watchable for the average fan for sure, but....

And to top it off, Hooters waitresses across the country were angered that the main event went 5 rounds - forcing them to stay late and serve today's UFC fans (pretty much WWE fans with Hot Topic shirts) endless waters and Mountain Dews.

How can the old school fans not love Jon Jones?! the man brings excitement and vicious finishes in all his fights! Edgar's last 2 bouts were two fierce examples of will and heart ever seen in MMA (almost sakaraba-esk in terms of perseverance) Dos Santos is a train that does not appear to be stopping anytime soon (If he can get past his stiffest test in Ov), I don't know why one controversial decision is making everyone shake their heads and threaten to pack your bags. If you can't get through one bad night I'd wager you were not true fans to begin with.

Jon Jones is the matrix. If you are a fight fan you are a fan on Jones and Ando. Frankie Edgar is UFC Arturo Gatti. J2S looks great. There are plenty of guys worth watching for IMO, but I'm seeing lots of the guys in their 30s who were huge UFC and Pride fans, from a BJJ background starting to lose interest. I seriously knew people who wouldn't miss an event for anything and now they'll only watch if Jones or Silva are fighting or happen to be home on a Saturday. I'm noticing a lot of people losing interest. The hardest core of fan becoming very casual.
