The left drove me right

Anyone else? I was pretty liberal for most of my life, and I still consider myself one. But over the last decade the so called liberal party has become psychotically dogmatic in their positions and approaches that it sickens me.

I was left until I got a job and started paying taxes lol Phone Post 3.0

Yup, me too.

These so called "liberals" are more like facists nowadays.

Save here, except I'm in Sweden. I'm losing my mind here. Phone Post 3.0

Definitely, and I still hold the exact same principles. I feel like I haven't moved right, but the others have moved left. Phone Post 3.0

Still lefty, but ya, I feel like I'm more ashamed every day Phone Post 3.0

yup

I think we need to come up with a new political term for these people. The classical liberals back in the day would turn in their graves to be lumped in with these shrieking SJWs

Having a job doesn't change my opinion on freedom of speech, prohibition of drugs, seperation of church and state, or really any other social issue. Phone Post 3.0

The extreme left has hijacked the DNC like religion did to the GOP back in the 80s.

I’ve shifted somewhat to the right, but still left of centre.

I'm just the opposite.  I was right, until i realized that the things they claimed to be for (especially smaller government) were never the actual goal.

I am now where i belong - a freedom-loving Libertarian.  I don't agree with all planks of the national party, but i do agree with the concepts of the core tennets - namely the non-agreession principle, and the idea that  freedom is paramount to all....

I meant that it made me took a harder look at the issues that my money was going toward. It made me grow up. Phone Post 3.0

Exactly how I feel

This.

Modern liberalism is a hijacked and corrupted version of classic liberalism.

People will say I'm being a partisan hack, but if you're interested, read Robert Bork's "Slouching Towards Gomorrah" for an explanation.

I'm kinda opposite. The idiot that was GWB pushed me toward the middle. Rove, Cheney, and their disgusting ilk were so bad compared to the people that surrounded Reagan. Don't get me wrong, I think HRC will be bad for the country but true conservatives (which excludes Trump) like Cruz and Rubio are just as nakedly ambitious with little to nothing to back it up as HRC. I've moved right over the last decade.  The left appears to have been overtaken by a socially radical element bent on disrupting society.  Not a fan.

Yup Phone Post 3.0

I was always left, after Barack won his first election, I moved to the right. Then I saw both are the same just on different sides of the coin. Now I really despise both sides with a passion.

Yup. Grew up in a liberal household. I feel like the alt right is what being a liberal was in the 90's and early 00s. Phone Post 3.0
