Guida was one of the most exciting fighters (if not the most) in the talent stacked 155 Pound division. He put on some incredible fights with the likes of Benson Henderson, Diego Sanchez, Roger Huerta and Tyson Griffin, however he did lose all those fights, so I can understand at 31 years old the desire to change things up, becuase that style was not going to help him became the champ. However he has not changed things up, he has abandoned completely his old style, and is turning into a lay and pray artist with some average foot work. This drastic change although disapointing from a fan perspective, I could understand as he wants at 31 years old to take a run at the gold, but his attitude is really annoying, how indignant he was after the loss to Maynard, and this jumping around, holding up two fingers after the 2nd round with Hioki like he had dominated when he did next to nothing but hold.
Are any of you guys pissed of with Guida's new attitude to?
I used to love watching Clay Guida. The guy was a beast and brought it every time. I would watch a Guida fight over just about anyone any day of the week. HUGE fan of his.
The new I understand the reasoning behind it, however it has completely turned me away as a fan.

I get the reasoning, but as a fan I just can't get behind him now and it's his attitude with that new style to that is getting to me. I might be being unfair, but he's just done a 180 as a fighter, and it's forced me to do a 180 as a fan of his.

Sounds about right... Used to be "Oh Guida is on the PPV...yup definatly buying it" to, "Welp theres a spot on the ppv that could have been filled with something else". Feel bad because his exciting style was about 50/50 win ratio but now with his dancing bear style of fighting sometimes gets the win but I just don't care.
I think his style may get him a few more wins but will not get him closer to a title shot, also he will make the UFC a lot more willing to cut him after a few loses that they would have been in 2011.
I'm with you. He's had some very exciting fights and I used to really enjoy watching him. I don't blame him at all for changing things up but I can't even pay attention to his fights anymore, my mind just wonders on to something else. I dozed off and missed the 3rd round the other night and had no interest in rewinding.
