Conor is doing stuff a bunch of fighters should have been doing for a long time. He's marketing himself extremely well and backing it up with solid skills.
If he beats Aldo and wins a couple more fights he will literally be financially set for the rest of his life. So he could make more money in 3 years than most will make in a lifetime. He was on social welfare not that long ago.
Maybe he saw a huge opening no one was exploiting and decided to take it. 1 thing I've noticed is he is very polite & respectful to everyone that interviews him and works with him for promotional stuff.
Too may fighters take him too serious and they get sucked into his antics. I like Poirier but Conor played him like a fiddle before and during the fight. Conor dictated every step.

The Conor preferential treatment is disgusting. UFC couldn't do this for anyone before Conor huh? Many more deserving guys in the UFC. Entitled, protected, and hasn't even fought anyone dangerous yet. Paid better than veterans who have been putting in work for years hoping to attain what Conor has been basically gifted. The whole hype push, in fight interviews on cards he's not even fighting on, where not even the stars who just won on the card have enough time left to have a fight interview. A non stop barrage of hype marketing for one fighter on the roster. Meanwhile other guys bang with killers in every fight and can't get the love. Thankfully most smart fans see what's going on. You can like Conor, it's ok to like Conor, but he's not the star in the division. Without the hype and push UfC put out to prop him up and let us see Conor, he would just be another guy. I think its only because Aldo doesn't speak English. Muricans buy the ppv and UFC needs to market to them. A guy speaking Portuguese doesn't do much to help that.
I agree, I think the UFC needs to force these guys to learn English. The US is the only market that matters and their popularity and earning potential can explode if they are more marketable and can communicate directly.

Don't get why people get so upset that an Ireland network wants to run a documentary on a mcgregor. I hope Brazil's major networks do the same for Aldo. I hope Sweden network do the same for Gus. I'd like to see NBC do the same for Weidman. Why would that bring on so much jealous feelings?

Calm your tits young lady, if you'd bothered to read any of this thread before getting your jimmy rustled you'd see that the series is not being made by, financed by or has anything to do with the UFC.
