The OG Assumption? The cheeto-eating, basement...

dwelling, neckbeard assumption?  Where does this come from?  I could understand if this was Reddit or some site like this but it's a MMA site.  I'd assume that most of the guys on here train or at least have trained and have fitness as a major component of their lives.  I think if there was an OG meet-up dudes would be surprised by who some of these posters are in terms of being impressive individuals.  I've done martial arts over 15 years and I'd surmise that the people I've met through it are by and large better than average in most aspects of life.

Hell, I get all my financial and relationship advice from the OG!!  Hasn't failed me yet (with the exception of Tesla stock of course)!

ttt...

one more time...

Your assumption is wrong.

When it all started only the nerdy types were on forums etc. The stereotype has continued even tho everyone is online now.

BarkLikeADog - Your assumption is wrong.

What part?

The “all of it” part.

BarkLikeADog - The "all of it" part.

That people assume the neck-beard type or that people on here are probably not as shit as everyone makes them out to be.

I've met like a dozen OGers now, none of them fit the basement dweller profile. They are all bunch of huge faggot though.

Tae Kwon do at age 7 is not real mma traning

That’s all observably not true.

How's it observable?

No. Not here. At all.

When this site first began I would venture that the vast majority of members, at the very least trained in something.

By far the vast majority.

Nerdy types…not so much.

This was quite literally the only reason I ever got a computer and internet back when…to try and follow NHB fighting, Vale Tudo events and the like in other countries.

I would be shocked if half the people on here now have ever even been in a fist-fight. Genuinely shocked.

In the early days I would guess that nearly all members had at least fought and/or trained in some manner.

When I started 80% of the OG had been in a fist fight........now, 90% has just been fisted. :(

This is true. The sport was underground & by & large anyone who was interested enough to find this niche was so because they were training, wanting to train, or related to/dating someone who was.

Mainstreaming of the sport brought casual fans.
