This is the real Monte Cox, when Monty found out that I teamed up with Felix Martinez to form Thunder Promotions, he became very upset and jealous. He then sent me this text. This is just the beginning of the extortion and sabotage that has occurred. Then the phone calls and the threats began. I encouraged Monty to talk to my attorney. Monte insisted that he was going to get me one way or the other, both monetarily and physically. This forced me to call the police and report the incidents. They are on file in two separate cities, Birmingham and Bessemer Alabama. Monty also received a letter from my attorney to cease and desist. Below are some of the texts that he has sent me. One line is omitted due to the nature of the language. Mr. Cox you have worried more about sabotaging Thunder Promotions, then your own show. For the record, I am the CEO of Thunder Promotions and Felix Martinez is the promoter. Our intentions  are to reschedule the show as soon as possible.   Felix and I send out our deepest apologies to the fighters and the fans and sponsors that were hurt by the postponement of the show. All details will be given in appropriate manner and at the proper time. Obviously Monte is not the prim and proper promoter that he portrays himself to be. From what I see and have dealt with, he is a thug. People are coming out of the wood work supporting me and telling me their dealing with Monty. I have one word of advice, “Beware” of Monte Cox! . Quite strange that Monty decided to have a show the day before Alabama Pride do you think he wanted to go after me?

Sounds like this guy tried to claim he was responsible for some of Monte's success. Can't say I wouldn't be a tad pissed off myself if I was in Monte's shoes.

The question is, why should I care?  MMA is full of guys whose vocabulary would make a sailor blush (I hear that Dana White chap has been known to drop the occassional F-bomb).  All I care about is if a promoter lives up to his contracts, and there are dozens upon dozens of fighters who will attest that Monte does precisely that.



I'll take the foul mouthed guy who meets his obligations over the guy who seems friendly on the surface but then screws me when it comes time to pay for my services.

I really don't know what the fuck you are going on about. You're going to need to provide a more detailed argument and a legitimate complaint in order to get the UG on your side.
