Yes it is me. Let me know what you think UG. I am ready for the hate. Light me up.
How civilized do you the fans want MMA to become? Do you want overly respectful fighters in MMA? No doubt MMA is a mainstream sport now and needs a good reputation to keep growing. But what really makes a sport have a good reputation? Is the MMA world starting to get a little to sensitive? We must not forget people this sport is full contact FIGHTING. It’s not a gentlemans game like golf. These guys and girls get in the cage to do one thing….finish their opponent.
The MMA world to me is getting a little to sensitive for my liking. Everyone is fine with trash talkin to hype the fight. Everyone sits at home saying to themselves “ooooohhh this is going to be good they didn’t touch gloves”. Everyone seems to however get butt hurt when a fighter doesn’t want to shake hands and hug his opponent after he beats them. What’s wrong with two fighters not actually liking each other? What’s wrong with two camps not liking one another? I see nothing wrong with good legit rivalries in MMA. I have no need for the fake trash talking to hype a fight. I know this is not pee wee football. No need for anyone to come out to the center and shake hands. Personally I think the sport is lacking good rivalries and some real hate.
Think about the type of fights we could see when there is some real hate involved. Would it lead to more finishes? Maybe more fighters leaving it all on the line? Troll any forums and you will see people constantly complaining about fighters not looking for the finish, fighters blanketing fighters, fighters using the 10 point must system to win fights. But it’s these same fans who cry when a fighter shows disrespect to another fighter. Who cares? Let them hate each other. It is good for the sport. The more fighters we have that look at it not only as a sport but as a real fight then the more exciting fights we will see as fans. Their is nothing wrong with fighters fighting with some emotion. Personally I think it will benefit the fans and the sport. Possibly less fights with fighters clowning around and less fights looking like sparring sessions.
If you think about it rivalries are what makes sports so great. Would the regular football season be the same without the Cowboys playing the Eagles?Would the NBA be the same without the Celtics playing the Lakers? No they wouldn’t. Having rivalries in MMA like we had back in the day will benefit the sport. So what if a guy spits on his opponent after he wins the fight. Does it hurt the sports image? No it doesn’t. As long as MMA can steer clear of fighters getting busted with drugs, fighters beating up the average Joe at local bars, and fighters carrying weapons illegally the sport will be fine. So my 2 cents is everyone get your panties put of wad and enjoy some real hate between fighters and camps. Nothing was better than The Chute Box Days when they wanted to dominate anyone who wasn’t in there camp. The days when the Gracies would fight anyone who dishonored there family name. The days of the hate between the Lions Den and Team Punishment. Bring those days back and I think you will see better fights.
^hahahaha
Damn I was hoping for more hate than that. Seriously does anyone else feel that. Don't get me wrong I love it when two fighters respect each other and go can in there and try to take each others head off then shake hands afterwards. It's a great thing. But why the trash talk before hand and then the shake hands after the fight followed by a speech talking about just trying to hype the fight he is a great guy blah blah blah
A serious question for all the UGers. What type of stories/articles/interviews would y'all like to see on MMA websites. What news are MMA sites lacking? Give me your opinions.....
NTXMMAjunky - A serious question for all the UGers. What type of stories/articles/interviews would y'all like to see on MMA websites. What news are MMA sites lacking? Give me your opinions.....The only site that I do not like is MiddleEasy. Now I know he posts here and no disrespect intended but to me it's just a horrible attempt at being funny. I have never been to Sherdog so I can't say much about that place but MMA Junkie always has great articles and they have Dr. Benjamin(Obama) that does some great peices on the sport.![]()
calling yourself "the shiznit" has never been cool so I would recommend changing that first
Lol I didnt come up with it. Old military nickname. Seems stupid but it has meaning to me.
Never been on or heard of MiddleEasy. I will check it out.
