Mine were shipped from Sherdog a couple days ago, so I should have them soon. But I was curious if anyone on here is using them currently.
ttt
I use Blue Corner Shooto gloves (standard for European Shooto) and they're really good. Much better for sparring than the ultra-thin gloves from UFC and events like it. You can punch a little more in training without anyone getting cut up...
Shooto gloves are great for training.
excellent, I can't wait to get them.
ttt anyone else?
Don't get me started on one of my pet peeves.......fumes angrily at stupidity
Get started, I'd love to see/hear it.
You can get the Shooto Americas style gloves at Ouano.com
All I am going to say is it doesn't take a genious to place the seams of a gloves on the INSIDE of a glove and not the outside.
I mean DUH edges=cuts.
Cut down on the surface area of the glove that is disturbed by seams and you will have a smoother impact surface that is less likely to cause "cuts"(many of which are not just cuts but actual avulsions and tears due to the jagged nature of the wounds which are damaging soft tissue).
I just got them today, they are pretty nice. They are the Ouano ones.

The OUANO SHOOTO and UFC Gloves are mad sick.
FuryuX all of the edges on the new gloves are covered. These changes were made immediately after the injury in the Couture - Belfort fight. Ouano makes the best mma gloves, second to none. There are a lot of cheap imitations but there is a reason that the UFC uses them. THEY ARE THE BEST.
I noticed the quality immediately, the seems are rounded and covered as mentioned above to avoid injury. Which is why I said a while back that the UFC should be using the shooto style gloves. I absolutely love these gloves.
i just got Quano's shooto gloves but i havent really played with them(i smelled them for a little bit in the car though lol).
they do have alot more padding then my pride replicas though.
Verbal I understand that the seems are now covered but a covered seem is still a disruption in the uniformity of the striking surface of the glove which is far more likely to lead to "cuts" than a boxing or shooto type glove.
there aren't any seams on the striking surface of the glove, they are underneath and at the rounded portion of the knuckles, they would not cause a cut due to the seams whatsoever. I just got them, and can't wait to get them worn in. I also have great pride replica's but they aren't comfortable with wraps on, the Shooto ones are fitted just right to wear wraps under.
My Shooto gloves perform great. They do make it hard to slip out of armbars since they are bulkier. My training partners don't complain as much about me punching them in the face anymore.
see mutually benefially to all combatants.
i see that combat sports is making a "mma training glove" that looks very similar to these.... this another case of them "borrowing" a good idea for thier stuff??
