The Sound and the Fury

by William Faulkner.

This book is one of my favorites and has been very influential to 20th century writers. Faulkner writes the book in four sections, each section is written in the mind on one of the main characters.

This book introduced me to the power of writing style to convey messages. Does anybody else enjoy this book.

No it's faulkner which = book about fucked up southerners. In this case a family consisting of brothers and sisters (the book takes place in their minds)that are retarded (section one), suicidal (section two), sociopathic (section three), and Slutty (doesn't have a section to her self), and the familys old black maid (section 4).

This was one of the books that we read and discussed for a couple different classes in college. I can understand the regard for it but I personally can't stand Faulkner. His work has never struck a chord with me. I read it simply to fulfill my class requirements.
