The stars have aligned

For UFC to become #2 again. Their product has become stale. They're scaring fighters away with the reebok bs. They've develop a rep for screwing over fighters and employees.

Meanwhile Bellator is developing and growing business relationships/opportunities Spike and former Pride FC head honchos. They're fighter friendly. They're reviving the greatest MMA fight scene and organization. UFC has yet to beats Prides top numbers. They Signed THE GOAT fighter for cross promotion and will build the division around him. Much like Pride did when they started.

For UFC The only thing they have is the talent pool but the stars have aligned for that to end. It reminds me of when Pride ransacked UFC for talent and built a better promotion Phone Post 3.0

I sincerely do hope that New Pride / Bellator take the helm of MMA, for the fighters and the fans' sake.

However, for this to take place, the new combo organization has a lot of hard work to do and a lot of ground to cover. They have to focus on 4 areas:

- Promoting their product.
- Legislation
- Scouting and securing new talent.
- Signing some big name fighters.

Promotion-wise I think the new pride with a little help from Viacom can kick ass. When it comes to legislation they have to hire some top class lawyers to put an end to ufc's horrible contract terms.

If they manage to do that, signing big name fighters should be much easier done. And as far as scouting goes, well... there are plenty of big name veterans already working with Bellator, they could help out to acquire some new talent.

The stars are aligning but there's a lot to be done still.

I want to know where ONE fits in with all of this, weren't them and Bellator confident they would co-promote at some point?

lol. its great that bellator had a great night and i'm all for it, but they still have a long way to the ufc fame level.

If the ufc loses the lawsuit that has them accused of monopolizing it will be a huge blow and it will help bellator/Japan secure top talent for sure Phone Post 3.0

I think the word you meant to use was "litigation," not legislation. Phone Post 3.0

I really hope this new Japanese Promotion becomes the next Pride. I don't dislike UFC, I watch all most of the cards, but it's become somewhat stale to me without Pride rules. Its going to take many years if the new promotion does even challenge the UFC, but I hope it happens.

Pride never die

THe UFC hate is odd. Yeah they can be dicks sometimes, but they still put on the best fights by far.

Bellator is proving that the UFC doesn't have a monopoly at all. And by signing Punk (who wasn't dropped but chose to leave ) and Davis, they prove that there is no monopoly. Phone Post 3.0
