The story of how FIGHTERS FOR KIDS got started

http://www.lockflow.com/forum/topic/please-help-our-seriously-hurt-fighter

This link is to a forum that got started for me after I was hurt in my pro debut about a year and a half ago. I was very badly hurt and while I was recovering in the hospital and at home my teammates, my opponents teammates as well as the MMA community in the northwest came together and basically over night raised the money for the insurance deductible and ambulance bills that came to  about $3500.00. I was only paid $600.00 for the fight. You can see it wasn't a profitable venture for me.

But this story isn't a sad one. It's a reminder of how strong the MMA community is and how much we truly care about eachother. I was very moved by everything that was done for me. I knew that it was now my job to give back.

Thats when I came up with FIGHTERS FOR KIDS. It's a non profit that I put together that helps raise money for under priveleded kids who can't afford to participate in sports and other extra curicular activities. We feel that it's important to keep kids busy and motivated. And with some great support from fighters like Lyle Beerbohm, Cody Mckenzie, Nate Marquardt, Mike Hanks, Julie Pena and Mike Chiesa. As well as Sik Jitsu, Fight University and Tri-Coasta.

We would love the support of the UG.

Thank you!
