THE TOP 10 JIU-JITSU PLAYERS IN MMA...

#10- Paul Sass- Ladies and gentleman, Paul Sass is a submission machine. At a perfect 13-0, Sass has won 12 of those matches by way of submission. His specialty is the triangle choke, which is why his nickname is “sassangle”.

#9- Shinya Aoki- The gogoplata, neck crank, hammerlock, flying triangle choke, and heel hook are submission holds that the DREAM lightweight champion Shinya Aoki has used to terrorize his opponents. Looking at this list of maneuvers, one can clearly see why Shinya Aoki may be the most creative submission expert in the sport.

#8- Rousimar Palhares- Rousimar Palhares is perhaps the most devastating submission artist that the UFC's middleweight division has ever seen. His leg locks engender fear in almost everyone, and over 70% of his wins have came via submission. Also, I would be remiss if I did not mention that fact that, in 2011, Palhares won a silver medal in the ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship.

#7-Ronda Rousey- Ronda Rousey is the best female grappler in mixed martial arts. Her armbar has become one of the most feared weapons in the sport. Once Rousey gets her opponents to the ground (and that seems to be inevitable), that's all she wrote.

#6 Nate Diaz- The Diaz brothers are analogous to the Manning brothers in the NFL. Nate is the younger brother who is beginning to be viewed to be just as good, if not better, than his older brother Nick. Nate Diaz has made more lightweights tap out than any other man on the Zuffa payroll. His spot on this list was cemented in brutal fashion, on UFC on FOX 3, when he submitted a very accomplished black belt in Jim Miller (a man who I was strongly considered putting on this list). When the guillotine was slapped on Jim Miller, he nearly bit off his own tongue.

Nick Diaz

Before anyone says Maia his last sub in MMA was over Sonnen in 09 Febuary of 09 ..

Nate above toquinho? An adcc finalist against andre galvao, i think harris wrecks nate in bjj, sorry folks. Phone Post

No maia on the list but you put in roger gracie? at no.1? Who has he tapped in the top 10 ten....even top 20?

Its isnt just about submissions but also positions.

Also Ronda is a judoka not a bjj player, maybe change the title to best grapplers.

No galvao or jacare? Jacare has an amazing bjj game for mma Phone Post

korean zombie

Gunnar Nelson disagrees with that list.

Aoki should be near the top Phone Post

Those are all good grapplers no doubt, but this isn't very concrete Phone Post

No jacare on the list...wtf Phone Post

MartialArtsMixed - korean zombie

.

Yea no Jacare or Maia is wtf. You can say Maia hasnt got a sub in x ammount of fights but if you dont get the fight to the ground you aren't submitting anyone, and this list is on their BJJ in mma, Maia went to the ground with 2 black belts and didnt submit them but controlled them easy for the win but most UG warriors thing BJJ is only submissions off your back.

Roger will follow the same path, the fight with King mo was retarded this early in his career, how was he supposed to take Mo down? On the ground so far Roger hasn't not dominated every second, positionally he just raped Jardine even though he didnt submit him, no one has controlled Jardine like that on the ground, and everyone else he turbo subbed.

That list is full of inconsistencies.

Aoki should be at or near the top. Phone Post

7 Time BJJ World champ Leo Santos finished Mark Holst alot faster than Paul Sass did

Jlau? No? What about Bj? What the snowman ? Phone Post

I like where Nate is and the reiteration of a sub over Miller is a really BIG feather to have in your cap. Phone Post

Shaolin, his mma record sucks but his bjj certainly doesnt Phone Post

Doug Wilson -
