The UFC Should Give Guida a Lifetime Contract

The guy is amazing. I have no idea how he gutted out the first round and almost came back to win it. He brings it everytime he fights.

He needs to finish as well.

I give this troll a 2 because people are actually going to bite

Oh BULLSHIT.

If you use this criteria then I suggust we give Homer Simpson a lifetime contract because he can take a beating over and over again and not be knocked out.

You must be a giant fan of Lay n' Pray.

obviously, homer simpson is a cartoon character.

its not just that he takes a beating..hes also beaten and/or hung with top level guys..

A simple glance at his record will demonstrate that he finishes MOST of his fights. I don't expect a kool-aid drinking potato counting SHAQ NOOb to know MMA.

Agreed. Guida is the fucking man. Anybody who doesn't like him is a faggot.

the guys 7-7 in his last 14 fights hes a journeymen

Well that guy seems to think otherwise.
Ban both trolls

When I first watched the fight Saturday,  I was at the bar and was pretty down on him.  The next day I watched the DVR where I could pay more attention and completely changed my mind.  The intensity before thet fight was spectacular.  That dude has so much energy and is a threat to win almost all of his fights.  If fighters don't want to be taken down then it's up to them to stop him.

I'm not a big fan; he has plenty of energy, but in his last 15 fights, encompassing over 3 hours of fighting, he has 2 finishes: Justin James and Samy Schiavo. At some point, he should demonstrate that he is a threat to finish a quality opponent.

 I like him.

A lot of his hate is unjustified. Everyone loved him up until the Danzig and Diaz fights. They cry "lay and pray" even though virtually none of those fights were spent on the ground. He's a ground fighter. He was trying to take his opponents down where he typically does his work. They were defending the takedowns. So they stalemated. But why should he stop trying for the takedown? 1) That's where he wanted the fight, and 2) by forcing them to defend, he was winning the fight even if he never got the takedown.

It's not his job to give up his plan and get into a standup brawl. If the ref thought nothing it was happening it is the ref's responsibility to break it up. If the ref's not breaking it up and his opponents can't get him off them, then fuck em.

In the Diego fight he had some lay and pray for some of the second and third, but that's unsurprising given he was probably still hurt from the first round, and when he did try to open up with punches on the ground, Diego actually got the better of him with the elbows. People also keep overlooking the fact that as soon as it hit the ground, Diego was locking him up in a death grip, showing no signs of doing anything but trying to hold him as close as possible and hope for a standup. He eventually became more aggressive from the bottom, but there were other points where he was stalling in the same way.

Not the most important factor a fighter needs. Important but Guida is always pressing, always fighting, he doesnt have the best finishing skills but still brings it.

You have to give him credit for coming back and keeping on keeping on with Diego who isnt exactly easy to keep up with.

I thought he go robbed against Sanchez. Diego had the best and most exciting 40 seconds or so of the fight and had Guida in real trouble, but Guido won basically the whole rest of the fight.

Wow, glad you arent a judge

sadic1 = Cecil Peoples?

i think all of the clay haters are people who havent had the pleasure of meeting him.he is respectful, gracious, and a noble man thats trying to make a living at what he loves to do. he makes the sacrifices that all of the other fighters make, he works hard, and tries evry single fight to give his fans a good show BUT, ONLY BEING ENTERTAINING DOESNT KEEP YOU IN THE UFC..WINNING KEEPS YOU IN THE UFC, and i personally think that all of these haters need to stfu and put some gloves on and TRAIN LIKE AN ANIMAL FOR A FIGHT AND SEE HOW FAR THEY CAN GET!!!NOT TO MENTION THAT THE UFC HAS GIVEN CLAY NOTHING BUT STIFF COMPETITORS AND HE HAS HELD HIS OWN, AND GAINED FANS WITH EVERY FIGHT.!!!

U guys crack me up, do u honestly think that fighters dont want to finish. Have u guys ever realized it is hard to finish really good guys or most high level guys. U guys try getting in there and fighting top guys and finishing them. I want to see it.

I actually agree with the OP. Clay Guida takes a lot of shit on this forum and he's had a lot of great fights. Last weekend's was one of them.
