Are you guys serious? I got through the first two pages and couldn't read any more.
People saying "meh" or "who?", saying they hope the UFC makes an example out of him, accusing him of doping. One poster named "palmtreeguy" straight out said he was a piece of shit.
It's not everyone but it's probably a good half of the comments. This is one of the only times I've been genuinely surprised by the UG's response. Forget the featherweight belt situation and whether you think it's unfair to him or not - why are we disrespecting Aldo?
Are there actually people on here who don't respect his history, his ability or love watching him fight? Even in the last Frankie fight, OK there wasn't a flashy knockout, but fuck me you know you're watching a master at work the way he moves and strikes. He's quick, he's precise, he's impossible to take down and even if you do get him down you're probably in trouble.
What the fuck happened here? Why are people going out of their way to rag on Jose Aldo?
Ug is full of the most retarded people
I don't agree with how everyone's treating him, but I think it has something to do with him always pulling out of fights, coasting in fights, things like that. Nothing that deserves this sort of treatment. He should definitely just fight Holloway though. If he retires or leaves, can you honestly say the UFC is gonna take a hit? He needs to realize this as well

Nah.
Plenty of fighters of all nationalities are loved. Being American has nothing to do with it.
Dude, you're making too much sense. Get off the UG now, you don't belong here with your "good logic".
I think most of those posts are from McGregor fans that are too scared to see the rematch. They secretly know that Aldo made a mistake in the first fight that cost him everything but will never admit it.
Get over the sob story.
Jose Aldo Jr. is a Brazilian Mixed Martial Artist who has a net worth of $9 million.
I said it there and I'll say it here too. People are pretending to love Jose Aldo just to rag on the UFC. A year ago when he pulled out of the McGregor fight everyone wanted his head and would have LOVED to see him cut. It was they guys fifth fight to pull out of and he'd gone over a year without defending his belt on a couple occasions. It's hard for the UFC to put faith in a guy like that and hard for fans to get behind him, which along with his frustrating stall-out fights is why he's one of the worst drawing champs in UFC history. The fight with Conor is finally wrapped up in 13 seconds and Aldo goes off his rocker crying like a baby then acts like a total punk after his boogieman gets beat by Diaz. Now he thinks he "deserves" a shot because he has a fake belt when the fact is the UFC is worth way more to him than he is to them. They could send him to Bellator and he wouldn't even do good numbers there.
That thread was sad but I chalk it up to young Conor noobs who dont seem to have respect for anyone not named Conor. It's no excuse but it shows me that their opinions ain't worth shit.
The ug has always disrespected Aldo. Which is a shame.
deepu -I highly doubt that.

It's nothing to do with Aldo, and everything to do with the UFC fucking around and letting Conor do what he likes

deepu -As a fan of both, this statement is a bit silly. If it was accurate, then Conor fans wouldn't wanna see Conor fight anyone, ya know..... "in case he loses".

People are free to cheer for whoever they want. I'm sure some people bought tickets to Aldo/McGregor @ UFC 189 and instead got short camp Mendes/McGregor, so Aldo could heal a bruise.
The event was expected to be headlined by a UFC Featherweight Championship bout between current champion José Aldo and Conor McGregor.[3] On June 23, it was reported that Aldo suffered a rib fracture and pulled out of the bout in light of the injury.[5] A day later, the UFC received official medical confirmation from several doctors that Aldo did not suffer such injury. Following a review of the scans, it was determined that the champion suffered a bone bruise to his rib and cartilage injury during training. Aldo had expressed that he had every intention of fighting. Despite that, the UFC announced a contingency plan that would have Chad Mendes face McGregor for the interim championship in the event that Aldo could not compete.[6] On June 30, it was confirmed that Aldo indeed pulled out of the bout and that the interim championship bout would take place at this event. The bout remained the event headliner.[7] On July 1, photographs of Aldo's scans were released and indicated that he had indeed suffered a fractured rib.[8] On July 10, White claimed that Aldo did not have a broken rib as "every x-ray he sent out was of an old injury". He reaffirmed that Aldo had a "bruised rib and cartilage" and that the biggest problem was the weight cutting process being complicated by the injury.[9]
“It wasn’t UFC doctors (who cleared him), either. It was three different doctors.”
Posting while you smoke cock is bad for health, dummy.

SkinnyJeanGenie -Love him all you want, but everything I said is a fact. If you can get past all that and him currently ducking Holloway then you must be a pretty good fan.The Baldfather - I said it there and I'll say it here too. Aldo will forever be remembered as the one and only best FW of all time. The way the UFC has treated him to make a quick buck off another star really makes the sport of MMA seem shallow. It's been said hundreds of times but it's really more like the WWE now than a real sport, which was supposedly what the UFC was going for.
I didn't watch his WEC fights live, just saw the replays and highlights. So it's safe to say I've been a bit underwhelmed by his UFC career. It wouldn't take Conor much to pass him in GOAT talks. Especially if he beats Eddie
Aldo doesn't make the UFC Connor McGregor money. Stop crying, learn english and get your ass back in the gym.
