Thinking about removing my fuel tank..... fucked am i?

my 2006 Focus (uk model) wont start today. this has been a problem in the past which has been fixed by banging the fuel tank with a hammer, leading to the decision that the fuel pump is possibly bad/clogged. the pump though is actually INSIDE the tank so in order to get to it to clean/replace it i need to remove the fuel tank.

now i have very little to no automotive knowledge and experience so is this a relatively bad idea or can i pull it off? i have a shit load of tool and a jack to get the car up so i think its possible.

any encourangement/advice/how to's/RIPs please feel free to post

btw its a 2006 Ford Focus 1.6 sport

actually i might repost this on the OG
